- it’s easy to pretend to have nothing to do.
it’s not so easy to fool yourself.
I pretended to have free time the whole week. because I thought I deserved it. I read 'the perks of being a wallflower' and it's been the first book I have read that had nothing to do with school since I've started this project in september. true fact. I loved it very much, though.
the beginning of my week was not good but okay, the weekend was amazing. about 100 people from my grade went to a holiday village to party the end of our written examinations. we had lots of fun and for the first time in months I was able to forget all the stress.

I do. I'm only about half way through because I've had so much work to do but every so often, I pretend I've got nothing I should be doing and I read, too.

I really so love this; I'd say it's one of my favourites out of all your work. I love the lighting especially, and the mood it creates.

Don't get me wrong, I think this is a great shot, but it really does look to me like you're posing for it. It doesn't look as natural as it should, if that makes sense.
But then, this could be deliberate, as you've said you were 'pretending' to have nothing to do.

well I think I get your point and it's easy to explain: I am posing. it's not like I'm sitting there with my camera pointed at me, reading and after half an hour taking a picture of what I'm doing. of course it's set up.
I didn't intend to make it look like I was posing, even though your last sentence would make sense. but I didn't even consider that.
but I guess practically every self portrait in my gallery is somehow not natural because I take the pictures myself, you don't see me acting the way I usually am, but I still try to put everything that occupies me into my pictures and I basically relive the feelings I had all week to get the emotions right. that is something I'm doing for myself, because many of the people who look at my work probably don't even see or even want to see what I am trying to express. but I want to know how I felt when I took the picture when I look at it a few months or even years later. and I think I will know when I will look at this, so I'm actually really satisfied with it.
but I do understand what you mean.
the only thing I would like to know is what you think could have made it more natural?

Well, if it were me, and I were to read in that position for any length of time, my arms would get sore. So naturally I'd bring my knees up to support the book, or allow my arms to fall down, resting the book on my legs... or something half way between the two. In my eyes, the slight change of pose would change it from "reading for a few seconds" to "reading for hours".
But really that's just me being picky. All in all this really is a great shot. Plus, at the end of the day, as long as you're satisfied with it, nothing else really matters.

yes I do understand what you mean. and actually I planned it that way, I had the book on my knees when I started to take pictures, but then you couldn't see it on the photos, so I changes my pose.
but now I know what you were trying to say and I agree.

grade diese blendeflecken machen das bild noch ein ticken wärmer und verträumter, finde ich. sie passen so richtig zum bild, machen es zu was besonderem
ansonsten kann ich mich lisalein nur anschließen, das licht fällt unglaublich schön

awwww das verlörpert so viele schöne emotionen 
es muss eine wahnsinns erleichterung für dich sein,dass endlich alles vorbei ist. und die momente,in denen man endlich mal ein gutes buch-das nichts mit schule zu tun hat- an einem tollen ort lesen kann, sind finde ich, so besonders und magisch, glücklichmachend

I have wonderful places to go to, yes, but it doesn't look like this everywhere near my home. people tend to think that because I only take pictures in the places I like the best
