this was NOT the picture i originally drew to post, but it was too difficult to start over on something i already started *and lost*

so i started drawing the lineart for this about a week ago, on flash. :d the whale is highly referenced, in fact to get the feel of it i ended up tracing one, and then drawing it from that reference XD

let's just say, this picture was killer, and no doubt the biggest file i've ever compiled size wise. over 100 megs. and that may not seem like much for the big artists that use a million layers for a jacket, but for me it's a landmark. o____o;;

the water was fun, and done over and over again. XD no tutorials, just smudge and mulitply + screen.

i dunno why i'm saying so much ;~; but this took me forever and i felt guilty for not meeting the timeline i set myself as a joke T___T
this was supposed to be done at least before decemeber.
ehe as you can see .. i didn't make the deadline.
but, because of my guilt, you got something a million times better than i thought i would do. @___@ so be grateful, and i hope the wait was worth it zoo <3

i figured an airbender would like a lighter color :I
the whale IS lavender, but with all the filters and effects i used on this, it turned out waaay darker T__T
i'll post the whale and girl seperately later in my scraps :>

my first attempt at water D: i think it turned out good.

Time it took: For-freakin-EVER!!
Program: Cs2 and flash something or other for lineart.
