Description
Being catapulted from his castle atop the threatening Mt. Dedede once more by the new hero of Dream Land, Kirby confronts the unconscious king on a field.

The king wakes up to see his new rival standing before him. Upset at another defeat at him, Dedede starts crying, knowing that he's no longer the toughest guy in Dream Land anymore. Seeing the crestfallen king sobbing, Kirby feels guilt for the self-proclaimed king, just as the king feels guilt over his greed getting the best of him. Kirby walks up to comfort the saddened king, but he holds his hand out to stop him, and sulks off, all alone.

However, the puffball knows the king is still feeling awful for his actions. He follows after the king, hoping all is forgiven. And once he finally catches up to him, he extends his stubby, squishy hand to him. Knowing that the pink puffball is now the tough one in Dream Land, King Dedede holds his hand as well, sparking a friendship (and destined rivalry) that would define them through generations.

King Dedede finally knows how it feels to lose. He knows how hard it is to accept it. And he knows how you can learn from failure. And with the failure he experienced, he finally tries to care for his kingdom, ready for a brighter future and hoping to clean up his act.
