I think you and I deserve a break. Come, sit with me and chat as we drink some apple juice, and continue with Round 4 of the Redesign Roundabout. This time, it's King Dedede's loyal second-in-command and Kirby's best friend, Bandana Waddle Dee!

This guy's an... interesting case. He debuted back in Super Star back in 1996, but didn't really become a mainstay main character until the 2008 remake for the DS, meaning that he went 12 years without appearing in another Kirby game. However, that Waddle Dee from Kirby 64 is also implied to be Bandana Waddle Dee thanks to some animations in Star Allies. If he really is the Waddle Dee who helped Kirby and Ribbon collect Crystal Shards, is that he's so friendly to Kirby? Is this also why he became promoted to Dedede's second-in-command? Well, in my headcanon... Crystal Shards Waddle Dee and Bandana Waddle Dee are the same character. Given how the Dark Matter Trilogy has Dedede not wearing his yukata until Kirby Super Star, I headcanon that the DMT takes place before Super Star, back when Dedede was still more or less arch-enemies with Kirby. Being praised as a hero of Ripple Star made Dedede so proud that he gave him a promotion to become his second in command. Then, after Super Star, Bandana Dee just went on to master spearsmanship (and yes, I know that is a made up word) and just became friends with Kirby shortly after. So now that I got this small amount of lore out of the way...

Changes:

1. Skin is more red in color.
2. Feet are darker yellow.
3. Cheeks are larger.
4. Brown eyes are darker.
5. King Dedede emblem on the front of bandana.

Done with your drink already? I haven't even gone into mention that one sketch of him at the right! About that last one... I designed this mask in the same pose the Waddle Dee from 64 had during the true ending, and he formed quite a strong bond with Adeleine, to the point of actually gaining feelings for each other (I feel like some people will call me crazy for this)... yea, they like each other.
