Normally I don't take photo's of old barns, but here is something really rare. Is that roof made of sod? Near Mountain Home Idaho.

A little more info. The homesteader's house is nearby. A two room affair that isn't much to look at. Certainly more effort was put into the barn's construction.

My great uncle Jack made a fair amount of money as a moonshiner back during prohibition and used some of that money to buy out homesteaders who were tired of living in poverty in the mountains.
