Description National World War One Museum, Kansas City Missouri,  April 2017.

In the Fall of 1918 this French Renault FT17 tank was struck by a German 77mm artillery round and put out of action.  The crew was likely injured or killed, but there is no record of their fate.  It was later recovered and repaired by U.S. forces.

There is speculation that the dome on the top is similar in nature to the bells one sometimes sees on bicycle handlebars  www.flickr.com/photos/crispymo…   Since I, number 1, like the idea and, number 2, no one has come forward and proven otherwise, I will assume that theory to be correct.
