I like to think Tails as frightened of Mighty at first, but since it's something Mighty's somewhat used to, he stays patient with the little fox til he eventually warms up fine.This uh sorta got outta control. Originally the background was flat white like the others, but I kinda wanted to make an indication that Mighty was on a hill, so I figured I'd make a hint of a background and. I really like drawing landscapes.
This's Hill Top Zone if you don't recognize! My favorite from Sonic 2 (not very orthodox I know LOL).

Ahhh, I've really been digging all your Sonic and crew drawings lately. Too much for my heart to handle! This one's no exception; I love the colors and the bit of perspective you gave.
I hadn't really thought much about Mighty and Tails' first interaction, but now you've got me thinking about it, haha. I like this scenario!

Mighty’s first appearance was in a pretty obscure Japan-only arcade game called SegaSonic the Hedgehog (1993). He, along with Sonic and Ray, are captured by Eggman, and have to escape by making their way through his island of horrible death traps! All that’s really revealed about Mighty’s personality in SegaSonic is he’s got a tough voice haha. That was prolly supposed to indicate he’s the strong brash type, but in Knuckles Chaotix (1995) they went a different direction, and this is the version of Mighty that survives to this day. In the English manual, he seems pretty boring. Here’s the English bio:
Mighty is just that. He's strong, smart and confident, and he can't stand weakness in anything. He's one of Knuckles' good friends, and is determined to help save the island from Robotnik.
But, people started to realize the original Japanese manuals of Sonic games are much different than their American counterparts! Here’s Mighty's original bio (it was a literal translation so I edited it to make the wording less strange):

Dislikes: Violence
A traveler whose definite aim in life is to travel to every place of the world. He does not like roughness but carrying things out gently. Although a drastic change and uncanny ability will be demonstrated if he is met with a plight. He arrives at this island by chance, and will be involved in the commotion.
(btw, forest bathing is when you go for a long walk in a forest, taking in the sights and smells and sounds) So Mighty, per his name, has the ability of super strength, but he’s a very gentle guy who doesn’t like to use it. Though he will in a pinch. He also loves peace and nature!!!
Mighty also appeared in the Archie comics around the same time Knuckles Chaotix came out (to boost sales of the game in America) but that’s pretty ignorable cuz… the writer of those comics was a bad writer lolol. I mean I was obsessed with Mighty and even I had trouble gleaning any personality from him. I just always remember his hands were often behind his back, and he was always smiling, so I figured he was a pretty cheerful guy. (He also appeared in the UK Fleetway comics, but he was portrayed as an angry blockhead so… those comics don’t exist to me) Nowadays Mighty seems to have a more solid personality in the Archie comics, but I can’t speak to that since I don’t read them anymore.
That’s about all there is for official content of Mighty (I personally don’t count comic universes as official buuut). Most everything else is fan-made! For example, it’s never officially stated anywhere, but it’s pretty agreed that Mighty’s shell is nigh-invulnerable. He’s very well protected, especially if he curls into a ball. (I always thought it neat that Sonic curls into a ball to attack, while Mighty curls into a ball for defense)
Most people also think Mighty has a real close relationship with Ray, and he acts as an older brother to him—it’s generally thought after SegaSonic the Hedgehog, Mighty takes care of him (I think the Archie comics reinforce this idea). I’m kinda apathetic towards Ray and don’t really understand what his personality is… so I’m not much into that. I think most people also imagine him with a gentle voice. I personally absolutely love his SegaSonic voice. Especially since it contrasts so much with his personality. You can’t control your voice, and I think it’d be neat if he sounded that way!
Lastly, because of Mighty’s Knuckles Chaotix bio, and cuz he hasn’t made an appearance in any games since then (1995!!) most fans believe Mighty’s still out wandering and exploring the world! He’s actually regarded as a legit character among a lotta fans, even though he hasn’t been around for over 20 years. Wow… I didn’t realize it was that long!! So yeah, I just love Mighty, I think he’s awesome!
