No camera, no head, no problem.... but really, I just hope I caught your attention.
I believe there is lots of improvement I could make, so feel free to make suggestions.

wow you really are very good at photomanipulation
trying to feel yourself through the mirror and trying to percieve the fact that your head is not in its place... excellent!

My digital cam has a delay feature that you can set to take after 2 or 10 seconds
Editing the camera out is the hard part, glad you liked this one!

Thanks .
Lets just say it involved a tripod, timer, multiple shots, and 2 hours of photoshop editing. hahaha.
I didn't originally mean for me to be headless, I just hated the look on my face haha, so I got rid of it.
Glad you like it.

Tips: Set camera up on tripod in front of mirrior where you would be holding it when you stand in front of it. Take a picture without you in it so that you have a clean copy of the reflected backgraound in the mirror. Then take a picture with yourself in it. Now you have two pictures, alowing for less photoshop time becuase all you have to do is overlay the second picture over the first and erase the head and cover up the camera

Hehe, how do you know that isn't what I did?
Cause that's what I did, except that I just took two right into the mirror, since the only part I was going to be editing was what was in the mirror anyway.
I only needed the clean shot for the background where my head used to be, but the damn thing ended up a different shade since my black shirt was no longer in the picture which changed the lighting and colour of the shot.
But tripods are very handy!

that means you should lock the settings so they don't change depending on what shades are present, then lighten, darken them in photoshop in post

That's so creepy and all profess man! I really like it! I'm still beyond confused about how you took the photo of your hands!!

Roobitz In reply to Blackspidey [2005-06-21 05:10:41 +0000 UTC]
Well, that was originally going to be the big trick of this whole piece, but then I hated how my face looked, so I just edited my own head off. HAHA. But yeah, I was thinking to myself, "How can I take a picture into a mirror straight-on and have no camera show up?" and then voila, 2 hours of photoshop editing later, no more camera!
If you're wondering, I only used one photo for this whole thing. I set up a tripod with a timer and put my hands in front of the camera for that pose.
Thanks

That's really cool! I was thinking that you might have used to and just layered them, but your fingers are touching through the mirror seamlessly so I kinda got confused! It looks so great though! I still am wishing I had Photoshop....
