I would accept that argument but I've never seen any red bull in Tamriel

possibly so. but placing a stormcloak between myself and a dragon is like killing two birds with one stone

The magic of Skooma shall have to do then.

Only the bird isn't a bird, it's a Stormcloak. And the other bird is a dragon. Both of these things are very different, but I suppose that they could both be birds as both a falcon and a penguin share such a distinction. But then the bird is also the one casting the stone. Hmm... Yes... C:

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2012-01-10 00:40:50 +0000 UTC]

haha, is Skooma a stimulant?

I suppose a bird creature could hit two birds with one stone... perhaps hitting two enemies with one arrow would work? except it wouldn't be an arrow... it would be dragon breath and stormcloak weaponry... I don't think there's a way to salvage this

Yes, actually. Drink a whole bunch of it while heading towards the edge of Dive Rock in Oblivion and you shall experience such for yourself.

Like running a grandmother in a wheelchair without breaks down a slope into several boxes of mayonnaise.

seems to me that Hist would be more appropriate if you wanted to fly and breathe fire (and were not an argonian)

ummm no.

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2012-01-10 03:13:34 +0000 UTC]

I think Hist is more like a stimulant mixed with an hallucinogenic drug contained in a tree. Collect the Histcarp.

It was just an example of something unrecoverable. In that situation, you're better off just worrying how to fix it than how to stop it.

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2012-01-10 03:47:24 +0000 UTC]

if you don't have a hallucinogenic I'm not sure how you intend to grow wings or breathe fire - you need something strong for that i think

Or you could take a class in shape-shifting. If growing into a giant wolf monster is viable, I think you can learn to become a dragon somehow. I think this may have perhaps stumbled across another very interesting mod idea...

Have you ever put Shale and Morrigan in the same group? I would say Sten, but he is about as effective at communication as Shale ought to be whilst made of stone.
On a companion note, Belrand is pretty awesome in Skyrim until he gets eaten by Falmer. Sad day for the bald man and his ghostly wolves.

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2012-01-11 06:29:31 +0000 UTC]

I don't know if I have but I think Shale is entertaining enough on his/her own
Morrigan was my bud though - I eventually taught her to heal and replaced Wynne with her (I played mage and had no place in the party for a 3rd mage)
and I have not tried dragging him around... I stuck with Aela for quite a while... and then no one... eventually I realized I really should not have sacrificed the person that I did to Boethiah as she would probably have been my bestest friend had I not. woops. but yeah, now I play solo and hope that dragons don't attack me very often.

Guhk. Pigeon crap. The eradication of all things fowl in this world would be only the beginning of my corrections. Squishy humans come next.
I would keep her with me if I wasn't going for the complete hero path. I tend to complete every quest I get, and most end in positive ways not necessarily benefitting myself, so Morrigan tends to get a bit frazzed about that.

One little two little three little dead followers that weren't much help. They all blend together after a bit, aside from their different remarks about where you are or what is going on.
It's a lot different keeping people around in New Vegas. Then, you need them.

haha, I feel like I don't play that evil of a game but for some reason Morrigan likes me and Alistair hates me.... I think at the end of my game the conversation I had with Alistair to make him sleep with Morrigan went something like, "Look, I know we don't get along but you should really follow my advice and sleep with the cool witch"

I try to keep them alive.... I really do

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2012-01-12 01:33:32 +0000 UTC]

You know, spawning witch children with just as much claim to the throne as Alistair had in his situation may not be a good idea. That's just some retrospective thinking on that matter. XD
Then again, dying isn't something I'm too fond of, either. But it was how I ended Fallout 3...
Perhaps she always knew that you would choose to have your best bud perform some sort of dark ritual for her, and so she loved you, and Alistair just hates you because he knew he'd have to sleep with his own enemy just to give you a more positive ending.
They never really say what happened to Morrigan and her respective and presumably evil child. I'd say she either copied her mother or perhaps just began the cycle again by giving Flemeth a new body. Either way, it's pretty creepy.

Going to see if I can gain any more info out of it when I beat it again this weekend (almost up to the Landsmeet), but between that and starting a third character in Skyrim and college work, such answers may not be forthwith in their arrival. lD

It's like they don't even want to live sometimes! No! Why are you running into the spike trap over and over again? Giants are not your friends; this is why we go around the camp with the enormous bones.

what are you talking about witch-child-heirs-to-the-throne are a wonderful idea
I like to believe that Morrigan is out there being a wonderful mother to some lovely dovahkiin/witch baby
and even if she does go evil and they take over the world then at least I'm in her good graces - I could be the leader of a new country or a general or something
wasn't there some DLC that dealt with her? I never played it so I'm not sure >_>;

so many games so little time
college does take up an unfortunate amount of time. on the plus(?) side I get to deflesh a racoon or something for one of my classes this friday... I think that's a plus... I suppose it depends on whether or not my stomach can handle it

there're just some tactics you can't really use with a follower. You can't tell them "stay right here and shoot at that thing from on top of this cliff. Under no circumstances are you to run down there and engage the giant directly." they just do not understand

They shall seize power in the third game with the impending doom of another blight and awesome character creation again. I've got nothing against Hawke, but I like to create, you know?
Morrigania shall its name be and Morriganians shall its people be called. The child's name is Stanley, the talking grapefruit from Passwall.
I haven't yet either, but I intend to get it soon. Hopefully.

Deflesh? Is that a step beyond dissect? Or maybe the step just before? I think it depends on whether or not the raccoon appreciates the defleshing.

And I don't think "smarter followers" ranks in at the top of modders' lists. They prefer making bread look better and adding in Sephiroth, you know, the serious stuff.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2012-01-12 04:14:12 +0000 UTC]

I imagine Morrigania will be a lovely place - I cannot wait to be in power there somehow
preferably with Zevran at my side making everything 5 times more awkward
you know, my favorite part of DA2 was when Zevran showed up for that one quest. I was just so happy. I do miss him so.

I think defleshing skips straight past dissecting. In theory anyways, I haven't actually done it before
and the raccoon was road kill so I think it's a little beyond worrying what happens to its body.

yeah, but the modders made the Nightingale armor look even cooler. I didn't know that was even possible. Unfortunately I play on the PS3 and cannot experience any of this anyways.

Your sole responsibility shall be the eternal torment of Alistair and the Chasind; all those who hate or dislike Morrigan, pretty much. However, your advisor will be completely useless and make an analogy to the country's bosom every three seconds just to keep the court on their toes.
I have yet to play the second game, but I shall now have to watch for this.

Why are they giving you guys roadkill for a school assignment? Don't they have, you know, subjects prepared for class? Or was this more of a moment of fortune, more so for the school than for the soon-to-be-defleshed.

That is... impossible.
Same issue with the 360. There's certainly nothing wrong with the game aside from glitches, but it would be cool to see what people can come up with out there.
In computer related news: I still do not have a Steam account. lD

sounds good to me
nah, Alistair was alright in my books. I just wasn't in his...
when he showed up in the second game it was my second favorite moment(though I do think there should have been more "swooping"). But this perhaps says something about the second game...

well it's not for an actual anatomy class... it's for an anthropology special projects class that I'm taking and, aside from the fact that one of the class members for some reason has a permit to pick up roadkill, the department isn't very well funded. The class is sorta odds and ends and what not. So road kill it is... The "hard science" type classes get all the cash even if we're doing the same things...

you would think so, right? but no [link] (plus there are a ton of other mods but I think most of them are a bit garrish)
and yeah, I could have bought and played the PC version but I'm so much more used to console controls...

He is a cool dude, he just doesn't like much. Tongue-in-cheek remarks work great with him, though.
Why do you keep telling me these things that I am unfamiliar with ahhhhh? (hard to write out the tone for that one) I'm still hoping that whatever it is that people don't like about that one, it can be boiled down to it all being a story in a story.

The meat is always sweet when you find it on the street.

It kind of looks like they just increased the contrast. It's still cool, but maybe a bit lazy as far as mods go. Though it is certainly better than see through armor or yeah, I'll just stop listing off mods. There's a list for the "Ten Creepiest Mods in Skyrim." I don't recommend looking it up (garish is a good word for them).
It's like switching from driving a car to flying a plane with all those tantalizingly shiny buttons.

eh, I didn't dislike the game. The first one was just better. All the characters in the first game were so much better... and I didn't realize that until they popped up in the second game and I was like OMG HOW I HAVE MISSED YOUUUU!!! Must ditch Anders and Fenris for Ali and Zevran! (sadly impossible) I liked a lot of the characters in the second game at first but after a while their personalities really start wearing on you... the only character I liked by the end was Varric... and I couldn't keep him with me most of the game cuz we were both rogues ;_; also the repeated dungeons were the worst thing ever. do not know how they could have possibly thought that would be an okay thing to do.

defleshing got put off a week cuz the head deflesher was sick. not sure if I'm relieved or disappointed.

I think I saw a better picture of that one somewhere and the textures were much better as well. Either way, I prefer it to some of the other ones I saw... bad looking recolors and what not. Though one did just remove the cape which I think could be kinda cool.

I do not know any of these people, except for Zevran. lD
Did the writing staff change between the games? (Not just the head programmer, but the character and quest writing staff)
Repeating dungeons is never a fun experience, excepting using a second or third character in a new game. Then they at least still feel new.
I think that I may try Hunted: The Demon's Forge when prices drop low enough just so that I can use the Dungeon Editor.

Prior job experience: head deflesher. So, are you the head of the defleshing unit, or do you deflesh only the heads of things? Uncertainty shall lead to death.

Some of them can be really good, if they put the time into it.
I really want to create Domus Maleficarum e Artes Negras de Sanguine (my Latin may be a bit or possibly many bits off). The name sounds cool, and blood magic would be a nice addition.

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2012-01-14 18:08:01 +0000 UTC]

haha well Ali is my shorthand for Alistair but Anders is a bitter mage guy and Fenris is a bitter mage-hater guy. That about sums up the entirety of their personalities. You can imagine that keeping both of them in your party at the same time begins to wear on you after a while. They both have reasons to be pissed off but ugh are they irritating sometimes. Fenris is a huge hypocrite (which you actually can get him to acknowledge somewhat at the end of the game) but I hated my other tank more so I kept him there... As for Anders he would not give an inch of ground on any of his opinions... and the only other mage was Merril and she was weird but OK... problem was Anders was the only mage who could actually do any decent healing. So Anders it was. Varric is kinda a funny but sage type of guy... a dwarf with a crossbow.
and I have never heard of that

I am not the head of the defleshing unit nor will I probably be defleshing the head... maybe an arm or something

blood magic eh? How would you work that?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2012-01-14 20:33:43 +0000 UTC]

Well, that bites.
When does the game occur, anyway? I thought that it was some unspecified amount of time after the first, so wouldn't that make Alistair king? I know that it has to be in the same century to keep within the Dragon Age.

It's another game made under the Zenimax umbrella and I think Bethesda had a hand in it. Came out before RAGE, which I don't think I'll play for reasons. Two-player dungeon crawler with a tank man and elven archer woman killing demons and undead and generic dungeon stuff. However, it does have a very good editor only outdone by Torchlight.

No, I mean for the person who is head of the defleshing unit.

It wouldn't be too hard, really. The animation of blood loss from physical hits is already in the game and can be applied to several areas of the person when hit, so increasing the frequency all across the body or at multiple key points wouldn't be a problem. The same magic hand animations ought to work. Pain or injury sounds can be increased in frequency and volume, effects can be re-colored, and the Bloody Mess perk is still in the Bethesda code. It can be done.

I think it's a year or so after the first... Ali is king(or at least he was in my game) so he visited on some important business of some sort

what do you want to do with the editor?

will the head be defleshing the head you mean? I imagine so

hmm sounds like you've got it all panned out haha
now if only you could mod on the consoles...

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2012-01-15 03:09:31 +0000 UTC]

So it just assumes that the Grey Warden wouldn't have gone outside Ferelden or Amaranthine? (familiar with Amaranthine DLC but haven't played it) That would also overlap with some of the other DLC that take place after the events of the Blight.

I can't really think of much other than building dungeons and challenges for myself. lD
I do already have SoulCalibur V pre-ordered, though, and that character editor should keep me busy for quite some time.

You said that the head of the defleshing unit was sick or out for some reason, and the title of "head of defleshing" prompted me to come up with an interview for them with that on their resume and the ensuing confusion. XD

It comes from extensively finding out how to work with what you've got to make things how you want. Mainly comes from Spore.
The point is that blood magic is nasty stuff and even using it should be unpleasant, yet rewarding in its power.

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2012-01-15 09:42:59 +0000 UTC]

I am curious as to how they would have wrapped up the ending of the last game in the period following it. I'm not saying that they should go to Kirkwall, and in fact I almost think that would be a bad idea; I'm just saying that, given the freedom of choice in the previous game, who's to say what the first character may or may not be doing? While a Dalish would not likely be traversing that section of the world, the human noble might be, or perhaps the casteless dwarf. Maybe I just think on layering of choices too much. XD

I know that if I just jump into an editor, I can do absolutely nothing. However, if I think of something beforehand, the editor just seems to do exactly what I want it to do. Now if only pencil and paper would work the same way. XD

That's just one of the great things about what sets blood magic apart from all the others, though. It is evil, maniacal, and quite possibly psychopathic in its application. Every second of it has to feel like you wield an immense power capable of amazing things, but at the same time you must be aware of the pain that it causes to yourself and others. It's the very definition of evil, you know?

haha, well, I believe it is across a large body of water and so I would guess travel is restricted... I guess it's just assumed the grey warden would not be there... And logistically, I don't think they could as the grey warden would have to speak or take actions and you wouldn't be able to control it...

I've always wanted to try and recreate the final boss fight from Shadow of the Colossus in little big planet haha

There are some free remixes on Newgrounds, but you have to care more about having it than having it in quality.
I've been trying to get some of the work of sbeast64 off of soundcloud, but it hit the download limit. He does Zelda/Lord of the Rings/Skyrim.

Step one: use blood to cut open enemy
Step two: draw blood from enemy until they die
Step three: kill remaining enemies with first enemy's blood
