Very little and few CDs.
That can be a good thing if you are drawing and such.

What do you listen to?
I've got a particular set that I like and know well that I use for drawing extravaganzas, mostly metal (specific varieties) and its musical cousins. It has been far too long since I have sat down and genuinely drawn anything of note.

I tend to listen to rock and alternative. fave bands/artists include the killers, picture atlantic, cage the elephant, florence + the machine, ellie goulding, lissie, keane, phoenix, sara bareilles, and pretty much video game music/ remixes of anything i have played - especially nostalgia-y things
I have so much music at this point that i can no longer name the songs (even if i can sing them...)

That's a good list. A lot of classic rock and some oldies that they still play on the radio. The elephant is a fairly new arrival; they got a big break when their music got picked as the intro for Borderlands (Ain't no rest for the wicked). You should listen to Lost Odyssey's soundtrack. It's made by the Final Fantasy guys and has a lot of unique stuff, namely violin, piano and occasional electric guitar. Oh, and tell me if you know his one intro: Dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun eenoo eenoo eenoo eenoo eenoo eenoo eenoo enoo - long live seraphim seraphim Sephiroth! (noticeable jump, giveaway and possible incorrect lyrics)
Know all the songs? SING ALL THE SONGS!

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2013-01-11 19:38:07 +0000 UTC]

cage the elephant's music is kinda hit or miss with me but when it's a hit i super dig it. I think the first one I heard was Always Something. I didn't know that Ain't no rest was the Borderlands intro (haven't played that hmmmm)
I just always associate Lost Odyssey with this weird video and binary and computers
haha, i went to a Final Fantasy concert in SF with my friends a year or so ago and they played the Sephiroth song and made the audience sing. One of my friends I went with can actually sing so as i was nearby and got a pretty good rendition

I've not heard more than a handful of their songs but I figured as much. It's not a name you hear frequently mentioned. Do you like the instrumental parts or the singing? Or whatever it is, I guess. lD
If you do get into the series, know that the first game was really an experiment into a new idea and the second one pulled it all together (first is still great, don't get me wrong, and it's also cheaper; I could jump online in it with you if it were fraggin cross-platform compatible).
I am very confused as to what you are referring to. I know a song in binary but it isn't at all related to the game.
Awesome! I know the song without even having ever played the game; it's like a trademark for the series.

I hope that this year's E3 shows off some real promising stuff that's a departure from what holds us back now. Microsoft says they have big news this year and are even trying to build suspense with a countdown to the date on their site. Fingers crossed.
I don't know, it could be an interesting thing to know.

and yeah, i don't doubt that the ps4 will be announced right after the next xbox... i keep hoping they aren't announced at all though because i don't want to buy anything

All of Colorado. Seriously, that state is either open farmland or giant sky punching rocks. South Dakota also has terrible reception; large hills that look like mountains worn to nubs, cliffs, valleys and the badlands (enough said about those). I hear western Nebraska's dunes break up the signal there as well.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

RoochArffer In reply to SporeRedland [2013-01-15 23:47:35 +0000 UTC]

yeah, i'm sure cell reception gets sketchy everywhere
for the internet though i'm sure most towns have somewhere you can access it for free
i wonder if out in the boonies if you can even get someone to bring the interwebs to your house - my family is from the suburbs and we had trouble getting one company to cover us even though our next-door neighbors had the exact thing we were asking for...
whenever my dad goes to his parents' house we can never call him cuz they only get cell reception on certain areas of their property - so he would have to be standing about 30 feet down the driveway to make a phone call

Just like wifi.
Except for the "towns" that consist of 2 gas stations, 10 houses, 4 churches, 3 bars and a partridge in a pear tree.
I've never known a company to refuse a customer. Sounds decidedly like a bargaining pitch for a sale. Naw'sty untrustworthy companieses.
That is very odd. Do they live around large treed areas or patches of hills?

yeah well my mom is the one who deals with them and honestly i feel sorta bad for the salesmen...
they live at the very top of a hill... it's a pretty well populated area though

House to church ratio decreases directly proportional to decreasing population.
Does she like yell at them or something?
Hmm. Depending on the placement of the cell tower, it could be that the signal is directed at the bottom of the hill and the top only receives the reflection. Having never worked in that field, that's the best guess I have. lD

she's just... a true bargain hunter and manages to squeeze coupons and discounts out of people like no other...
yeah, i really have very little idea how it works

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

SporeRedland In reply to RoochArffer [2013-01-17 05:13:10 +0000 UTC]

It comes from a long history of religion as the center-point of civilization out west. Despite a separation of church and state, church presence acknowledged the people were "good Americans" with an established interest in community. Then we kept them because we didn't want to remove churches or something.
The kind of person you don't want to run into at a garage sale. XD

Haha. Yeah, I often make jokes about lighting on fire when I get near a giant wooden effigy or pews. It is weird thinking how normal a church is. There is nothing special about the building that should "ward off evil" or make it a sanctified place. We've got a church here in town with a stained-glass window dome for a roof in the likeness of Abraham Lincoln; his hat resembled the Pope's so he became a holy symbol. XD
You are correct. We must find the right science and harness its power!

One of my friends was discussing PokΓ©mon today and said that "the damage for this move is exactly about this much." "Approximately. The word you are looking for is approximately," I said with an admonishing finger. He then continued his sentence, disregarding the grammatical error since he was already making a statistical one.
