Description
Species name: ???Common Name: Puppeteer
Coloration: A mish-mash of green and brown in order to look like a lump on a tree. Even its teeth become brown over time.
Features: This creature is practically senseless, relying almost exclusively on its extraordinary sense of touch and taste. From its huge mouth extends tendrils with blade like hooks designed to capture prey living or dead. Once all of the hooks are in use or if the prey is heavy enough it will hoist the animal into its large mouth and digest it there, like a Venus fly trap.
Habitat: This creature can spend its whole life in a single tree. Usually in jungles but there are some who do live in colder climates, though rarely.
Behavior: As mentioned before it can spend its whole life in a single tree, waiting for prey to come to it. Only once or twice in its life time will it leave the tree either to mate or to find new hunting grounds. It's name sake comes from the way it uses the capture carcasses of animals. By jerking the carcass around a bit, it gives a momentary illusion of life and draws in more prey. There have been some reports of it being able to mimic animal sound though how that its possible without a sense of hearing would be unknown.
Height and length: About 3'5" tall and about 4' in length.
Life span: In good conditions, 10 to 15 years.
