Oh, that's actually a thoughtful place to put the mag at. I think it would be a quicker reload that way.

Anyways, another reason to put it there is so you can get the bullets to the back of the barrel easily.

How does one access the front scope when it's time to start shooting people? Does it direct the light up so someone can look down into the lens without having to look exactly in-line with it like modern scopes require?

There are some things I can't see, might just be me: magazine, ejector port, bolt, the chamber. Nice render though, and good beginning in any case.

Think its a bullpup from the bottom of the stock, but i wonder too where the ejector port is, might be Fusion recharging cells.

Yeah I didn't really think of it as being an energy weapon. If that's the case it wouldn't really have any of those; maybe a receiver.

That assault rifle looks like the gun the Helghasts use from PS3 game Killzone. N i know a gun from Killzone wen i see one. Thats really cool.

Looks pretty cool, though the optic's a bit low, like they said. Shooter's gotta be able to look through the sight to use it (unless it's hooked to some kind of sweet helmet display...) Also, the trigger guard's a bit small, there's no way a burly hero's going to be able to fit a gloved finger in there, much less pull the trigger.

if i may point out a design flaw in your AR,the small green info pannel blocks the sight unless your going for a smart linked scope,id recommend something smaller due to the fact that a smart link scope wouldn't look like a ACOG scope due in part to the fact that it would be a video scope and you would not be peering through the back end

very nice weapon, had I tried to create this, I would more then likely have 30 times the tris then you, but i tend to try for realism, not game art which you have done very well in mixing the two.

Nice model, and nice texture, but..the design of this weapon doesn't make much sense.

For one, you wouldn't be able to use the scope. Not only does the screen closer to the grip of the gun block it, but you have one glass end, and then some sort of blue screen on the other end.

I see...no magazine area at all. So, unless this runs on some crazy energy or plasma weapon, that's a pretty big problem. No ejection port, if this does fire bullets...

The safety is pretty far up the gun. Not a major issue, but it's a little strange.

The barrel changes sizes two times(it might just change once, I can't quite tell) for no reason at all. That's not a good idea.

So again, nice model, nice texture work, but you should have worked on the design a bit more. Just a tip for your next weapon

I made this in 3ds max and it took about 5 days for modeling high-poly, baking normal, retopology and texturing
