I only decided to do Matryoshka Luki like.... two days ago....

The iron-on didn't really come out like it looks in the pictures, the white is really see-through But you can always touch that up with fabric paint or something.

Have fun and good luck!

TEMPLATES NOW UPLOADED AND READY TO USE!!!

This is awesome!

I've got a question though, can you paint the white over the designs after you've ironed them on? And what kind of paint do you suggest?

Thanks for this

Yeah, you can use fabric paint but acrylic works well in this case too. I'm glad I could help, good luck!

Do we need any special printing paper for the design? For like if we put it in the washer, will it come off?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

root-for-theUNDERDOG In reply to NipahFTW [2011-04-29 01:29:42 +0000 UTC]

Interfacing/Iron-on paper has a side that when printed on and put under heat from the iron, the heat makes the ink melt off and merge with the fabric. You don't need anything special, just the interface paper It comes with very detailed directions and a bunch of papers in the package so don't worry about it! Good luck

Is there anyway to darken the white without fabric paint?

I might use a yellow jacket, but I don't want it see through. I can't exactly, go out of town for white fabric paint, especially since our local Wal-Mart doesn't have it.

Though, I do have 3D fabric paint.. -__-

root-for-theUNDERDOG In reply to tweety9102 [2011-05-22 21:42:22 +0000 UTC]

If you use a yellow jacket, you won't have to worry about it, it's not that bad really. But if you use a darker jacket, I'm in the same position as you, our mall IS Walmart and the closest place to get stuff like fabric paint is about a 45 min. drive away lol. So if you can, I'd suggest using like a white out pen or white out ink from the office supply area at Walmart, maybe acrylic paint back in the art department, I don't really know what the 3D fabric paint is though

Thank you again. You are a life saver.

root-for-theUNDERDOG In reply to Skuldchan [2011-04-18 23:49:06 +0000 UTC]

No problem! It's a cheap and really easy way to make it, but if you want it to look really neat and want to put a tad more effort into it, gluing felt cut outs on give it a cool touch. But I wish you luck in making this and I would love to see the outcome!

Uhm, I have questions.

1. How long did you make it?

2. If I ever wash my jacket will the print come off?
Thank you! I'm planning on making a jacket like this. >:3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

root-for-theUNDERDOG In reply to KaixTomiko [2011-04-14 03:00:31 +0000 UTC]

No problem!
1. It really only took like 20 minutes, maybe 30 if you decide to cut out all of the small circles. Just make sure all the white is off the edges, it does show up.

2. If you wash it in a normal load of clothes? Nah! You can wash it quite a few times and it might fade a little but that's all really. I'm sure there is something that you can use to remove it but you'd have to look that up on google or something
You're very welcome and best of luck! It's really easy, just takes some patience with the cutting Glad I could help!

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

The cut-able strips of the design, I'm going to iron them using the paper?

So it's like this;

RED JACKET -> SMILEY FACE/ EYE/ TEETH -> IRON PAPER -> IRON.

root-for-theUNDERDOG In reply to KaixTomiko [2011-04-15 23:22:43 +0000 UTC]

I forgot!! I side of the iron on paper that has the image on it peels off, BUT DON'T PEEL IT OFF TILL AFTER YOU CUT IT!!!

-Lay the jacket flat
-Place cut out (peeled off) image, ink side up, flat on the jacket
-Place the extra thin paper (it comes in the package) over top the cut out image
-Steam iron on a low setting for a good 2 minutes
-Check every now and then (peel the top sheet GENTLY and SLOWLY, if it isn't bonded yet, it will peel off and tear) to see if it's bonded
-Carefully peel off the top sheet when done and let it cool off

TA-DA!!!! It's really easy

ummm...just a question..did you print on the iron-on paper or on a normal paper? BTW you did a great job with this (^0^)/ i wanna try it out sumtime

root-for-theUNDERDOG In reply to hatsunemikufan771 [2011-04-13 23:26:43 +0000 UTC]

No no, good question :]

You print it on the iron-on paper, they come with instructions. One side of the paper has light typing on it, I think it's just to let you know which side to print on. But yeah, when you buy the package of interfacing paper, the instructions give you the details
