That's hard to say, because there were (and still are) parallel projects.
We started on 30th Oct. 2011 - Palando started by building the lion (leon') and I explained him my idea. In the following days I created the circles (sferoj - spheres) [link] and made the park [link] . And then we started to "fill the circles" [link] . In April 2012 I started to build Subtero, which is under Leonsferoj. The entrance is under the tower. In August 2012 I started to build the "Subtera Fervojo" - the metro of Minevaria - with the first station in Subtero. This metro station was the last part of Leonsferoj.

I guess you mean the game modE? I used the creative mode.

like did you use single player commands or world edit? Or did you place each indiviual block yourself?

SP Commands? On a server?
I used WorldEdit for the circles. I can make smaller circles by hand, but such great ones? No way, I'd have failed. xD
And as you can see in one of the screenshots I linked above (this one: [link] ) I combined the powers of WorldEdit and VoxelSniper to create the ponds. And I used the WorldEdit CUI mod to see the selection. ^^
The water underneath the statue is placed by WorldEdit, too.
Everything else is done by hand.
