Description
It's what's called in the industry a 'beatboard', a kind of concept art piece done during early pre-production to inspire ideas and to help figure out what the movie/show/game might look like.
I have a 3D passion project in the works at the moment. I have most of the set and characters done, but I need to work on the story a bitΒ more before I continue, so I started sketching in Photoshop, and things just evolved from there.
Whenever I've drawn Scooby, I've tried to adhere to the original designs by Iwao Takamoto, who was a lead character artist for Hanna-Barbera and who designed many popular characters, such as the Flinstones, Jetsons, Space Ghost, Birdman, etc. However, this time I used the look developed by Warner Bros Animation for their own Scooby series called Mystery Incorporated. Their design sticks close enough to the spirit of the originals, but is updated and much more expressive and fun to draw/animate.
Those who read a lot of body swap manga will get the meaning of the Shaggy balloon.

Thanks! It's the kind of swap I used to have dreams about as a kid, but they never did in the original "Scooby Doo, Where Are You?" series.
