After his defeat due to his extra-large sense of humor, 627 was modified by Jumba. He was made less violent, and, due to the problems it caused, his evil-forever feature was removed. 627 is re-activated when Squirrel and Leroy find his pod. The new 627, who is nicknamed "Rusty" for his rust-colored fur, is a thinker and prefers to use brains over brawn. His vocabulary has also increased beyond just the word "evil". Although he still doesn't say much, it still manages to get his point across to others.

Rusty's one true place is helping Squirrel restore forests by clearing away dead or fallen trees.
