Before I describe today's drawing, I need to apologize for something. Back in 2015, in the description for Delayed Delivery , I noted that I saw a tumblr post where someone expressed how much they disliked the ship featured in that drawing and this one, and I commented that their discomfort made me want to ship them more. For the past few years, I've felt that such a statement was in poor taste at best and cruel at worst, and is hypocritical since the person who tried to ruin my life did the exact same thing to me. So I want to apologize to that person, if they're still on . That said, I still like this ship, so if seeing it (or any ship that I show visual support for) is actually causing you physical harm because of how uncomfortable it makes you feel, do not hesitate to reach out to me. I won't judge and I will listen.
Onto the context, this year marks 10 years since the release of Sonic and All-Stars Racing Transformed. It was the game I bought a Wii U for, and even though the Wii U version is considerably weaker than the other versions, it's still one of my favorite Wii U games all these years later. I love the variety of characters, the various courses, the soundtrack, and the gimmick of switching between planes, boats, and automobiles. I'd love to see a follow-up, but since it's been 10 years and the closest we've gotten was Team Sonic Racing, I find it unlikely to happen. So I'll just stick with this game for now.
To celebrate, I wanted to draw Gum and Vyse. I have not drawn them since Jet Set Sunset in 2016. I feel like they'd be a good couple, with their similar personalities, and it seems I'm not alone in thinking that . It also helps that they're two of my favorite characters to play as in the game. For the game's anniversary, they're reuniting. They haven't seen each other in quite a long time, and they're so happy to see each other again.  Are they going racing again together or something else? I don't know, but I do know that whatever they do, they're gonna be enjoying with each other after such a prolonged absence.
