A few months ago, I drewΒ Captain reuNion . It was a drawing of Simon, Pit, and Mega Man, being reunited in Smash Bros. and commenting about how they're actually accurate to their games. It's gone on to become my most-favorited drawing this year, much to my surprise.I wanted to do another drawing of Pit and Simon. Along with knowing each other from Captain N, I thought they could have an interesting relationship. I personally believe Simon is a religious man, considering he uses holy weaponry against demons, so he'd probably think very highly of an angel like Pit. And since Pit only has a mother figure in the form of Lady Palutena, I think he might see Simon as a surrogate father. I'd like to make more drawings expanding on this idea in the future.
Awhile back, I was talking about the idea of this with Angelic-Blossoms. I told him that I imagine he'd be very protective of Pit against Bayonetta, for her angel-slaying. He doesn't believe that Pit would be in danger of Bayonetta killing him, but he agreed that a holy man like Simon would hate a demon-summoning witch. I thought it would be sweet to draw Simon standing protectively between Bayo and Pit, ready to fight her. He may be at a disadvantage, considering Bayo uses guns (and is top-tier in Sma4sh), but I could imagine the Vampire Killer is powerful enough to deflect the bullets.
