As I mentioned before in Super Slash Bros. , Marth X Roy was the first male slash couple I ever shipped, thanks in part to TheTroublesomeZorua . I've seen some very adorable drawings of them by the likes of SparxPunx and others, which only furthered my love for the couple. Of course, that's not the only reason I ship them. I also feel that their personalities would work well together, with both of them being kind-hearted, caring, and noble.
In my headcanon, Marth helped to train Roy at the Smash Mansion, which is why Roy was a clone of Marth in Melee. With most of his training coming from, at the time, the only other sword-exclusive swordsman in Smash, it makes sense that they'd have near-identical fighting styles. This trend seems to have continued with Sm4sh. Although Roy was not initially present for some of the changes Brawl brought, his Sm4sh incarnation uses a few new moves from Marth even though Marth gained a different moveset. For instance, Marth gained a taunt where he holds his sword up. Roy also gained a similar taunt, though his has him hold his sword at an angle. I thought it would be cute to draw the two holding their swords up together. They're taunting together and ready to fight together. Together they ride!

BTW, I hate Roy's English voice in Ultimate. Sounds too old; more like he should be voicing Lord Eliwood rather than the teenage Roy.
