Interesting all the different reactions to the picture and to folk's reactions to the reactions. Some say to refer back to the photographer's gallery to get an idea of the story behind this image...but that's not how it works, really. We are presented with THIS image. And because it says digital it might mean digitally altered or might just mean a digital camera was used. Personally-I think it's a courageous image. Most of us hide our imperfections. If this is postpartum, it documents the effect of pregnancy on the female body. The skin may regain its tautness over time, there may be stretch marks. Blemishes, scars, stretch marks are all landmarks on the body, documenting the journey it's been on. This isn't airbrushed beauty. This is the beauty of being human, challenging the notions of beauty that the media flaunt as the standard to attain, and we all to readily swallow.

In case none of you pay attention to the rest of the wonderful gallery this deviant has to offer, yes.
This woman had a child. Look at the image, previous to this. ~Rose-Ashes even states the model has a child, and these are the after effects of her pregnancy. (the only reason I can tell it's the same woman is because of her little beauty mark under her lip).
Explanation aside,
I really do enjoy this image. It can be taken in so many lights. A playful light, a shy light, a nervous light.. I enjoy the large variety of views in this image, not to mention the off-center execution makes it even more interesting. And as we all noticed, the contrasting skin textures also bring a lot of attention.
This is beautiful, keep up the good work. Very much worth a DD!
And by the way, I think the DD comment means the picture is so captivating, and it tells a story, but without a description, you have to figure out exactly what story it's trying to tell. I didn't think it was that confusing at all...

i think this photograph is intense, for want of a better word -
not only is the model beautiful, but she is naturally beautiful, and shows to the veiwer what a real women looks like. the folds in her skin arn't 'disgusting', the are nautral and (assuming that they are a result of childbirth) they show that this woman has undergone one of the most beautiful and awesome experiences there is in this life.
also - the simplicity of the photograph adds powerfully to it; she doesn't have to be glammed up to show to us that she is confident and strong, which i think is an important part of being a beautiful woman.
...i wish i could understand what the DD comment is trying to say tho :s
