Description We Here at Saltworks are not above using other Firearms as Inspiration.
And this series of three is no Different...being based off of USBN Defense Systems ( caiobrazil.deviantart.com/ ) FFA-72 Sniper Rifle fav.me/d6er0yk .

With all the Arguments about Firearms Restrictions and Limitations Nowadays...we thought why not play of that.
So we present you Our First Completely Civilian Rifle to ever come out of our GunSmith presses.
Being Single Shot Bolt Action...it's not going to Win any modern Day Wars...at least not before the Apocalypse.
But it is Capable of using quite a few rounds thanks to the Adjustable Bolt/Trigger Action System.
Though please remember this only works if you have the mag filled with only one type of round.
And with it being relatively Accurate...what with it rivaling quite a few Elite long Range Rifles Systems in it's Accuracy.
An odd feature about this Rifle is it Self Venting Barrel...so even the fastest Bolt Action user...can't easily make this rifles barrel over heat.

At Default this Rifle can be Bought in three Styles.
Two are Fitted with an Detachable Stock the Third can use a Stock but does not come with one.
While this thing does not have the Average Barrel length it still keeps accuracy using a special gas System which make the round rotate up a few Hundred time upon leaving the Barrel...leading to an almost Drilling like effect on most rounds.

Of the three you Style you see here there is the LongShot, Backpack, Quickfire.
The Longshot being a Sniper Rifle Equivalent.
The Backpack a PDW Equivalent.
The Quickfire being a Battle Rifle Equivalent.

(As always please if you Favorite then please comment as i love any type of Feedback)

Is the action based on a Remington 700 inside a chassis system?  Looks interesting, I'd run it for sure.

That is where i got the idea yes.

Though i don't know if that would work with the size of the lower receiver and mag well and mag i gave them.

mnshortdraw In reply to Rose-Eclipse [2013-08-02 06:33:14 +0000 UTC]

No, the mag angle is a bit steep for reliable feeding but it sure looks good.  A few minor tweaks and it could be made to work though.  I like the Longshot, more my style.  Compact but capable.  I have been running my DTA Covert more than any other rifle I own now, it's that handy.

Okay i though so i mean this as a mostly fictional rifle anyways.

I just got done watching this video www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTyMmu… then i read your comment is it simaler to the rifle your talking about.

mnshortdraw In reply to Rose-Eclipse [2013-08-02 19:23:20 +0000 UTC]

That's the one.  That little Covert is my new go-to rifle for mid range fun and hunting.  Topped with a Nightforce 5.5-22x56 NP-R1 it weighs much less than any of my other bolt guns.

Dang i think that might be one of my first personal rifles when i get my license and what not.

Would you recommend it as a starter gun or not.

mnshortdraw In reply to Rose-Eclipse [2013-08-08 04:14:44 +0000 UTC]

It is as easy to shoot as any other bolt gun.  Ergonomically, it's a bit different than traditional but comfortable.  The killer is the price.  I think mine was right at $4200 for the chassis and .308 barrel.  Different caliber barrels are about $1400, and then you have to add optics, and why not a suppressor on a rifle that short.  All together I probably have $8000 into mine, the cost of a decent used car, lol.

If you can swing it though, worth every penny.

Sweet i might just look into it as mt first rifle even more now.

The price as with everything might just be a small problem.

What a peculiar rifle! I like how this one was designed with regards to tighter firearm restrictions. These look like they'd fit the role they were designed for perfectly; self-defense in the Apocalypse (or in the wilderness)

now this is absolutely badass! my favorite one bein the obrez'd variant. i suppose it could be equipped with a folding stock? (i suppose these tubes on the stocks are for folding, like mine)

i love everything about it, the rifle itself and the idea.

Rose-Eclipse In reply to caiobrazil [2013-07-25 17:55:11 +0000 UTC]

Thanks "Obredz'd Variant" ?

I intended it to use a removable stock...two setting Stock or No Stock...but i guess one could design it with a Folding type Stock.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

caiobrazil In reply to Rose-Eclipse [2013-07-25 18:36:38 +0000 UTC]

yeah, in the Accuracy International Arctic Warfare rifle, which was the rifle i got inspiration from, these things in the stock are meant to allow it to fold. the AI AW is better known as AWP (it is known like that because of games like counter strike. it exists, but is just a variant made for the police, AWP - Arctic Warfare, Police), L96 or L105 (yet another variants, but more common ones.) but yeah, a removable stock is a nice idea.

"Obrez" is a term originatin in russia to refer to sawn-off, shortened Mosin-Nagants. it quickly became a term for any sawn-off, short bolt-action rifles. i don't know if the same applies to semi-auto or automatic rifles, though, but when some people see a seriously short, stockless rifle they sometimes say it was "Obrez'd". search Obrez in google to see what i mean.

of course, these weapons have a hell of a recoil, and their muzzle flash sometimes make them look like goddamn flamethrowers.

on a COMPLETELY unrelated note, did you notice the lack of security here in brazil during the Pope's visit? also, they talked to him in portuguese, as if portuguese and spanish were the same thing. man, as a Brazilian Catholic Christian, i'm outraged with the lack of security provided. of course, he wanted to be close to the people, but man, in a city like Rio de Janeiro, where gangs rule and have AKs, FALs and even RPGs (no i'm not kidding. one day the police even found a Main Battle Tank shell in a trafficker's house, and a police helicopter was already shot down by .50 BMG Heavy Machinegun fire.), an armored car would be the very least. i'd like to hear the opinion of someone who lives in a different country (and thereby sees different news) about it.

So when talking about it folding did you mean like this www.airsoft.eoldal.hu/img/orig…

Now that i know what "Obrez" i'm gonna do a series of them....hopeful i don't fail.

And anything like be fun but most likely hurt to fire.

About the Pope yes i quite agree but according to what i heard he didn't want a lot of Security.

I've been doing some research into your country and man i thought the USA was doing bad....you are blowing us out of the water in the bad area. I don't mean to insult your country but there a lot going on down there ain't there.

no prob, sometimes i also take years to comment back

internet went out yesterday... hopefully it won't go down again.

about that image, yes that's exactly what i meant. i guess it was made for soldiers who need maximum compactness when not using the rifle (urban snipers, paratroopers and such).

yup, here in brazil lots of thiings are quite screwed up. to start, think about it like that:

corrupt governments want to stay on power.

for them to stay on power, people must be dumb.

for people to be dumb, the education system needs to be scrapped.

if the education system is scrapped, everything is scrapped, as people will be dumb.

as these will also implicate in a poor health system, people will complain.

if people start complaining too much, there will be riots.

for the people to not make riots, they need to be even dumber so they accept what the government does in front of their noses. (low salaries, extremely high taxes, etc. etc.)

for some people who eventually are not so dumb also don't try to replace the government with a better one, they must have no guns.

for the corrupt politicians to get more money, they need to give lower salaries and bad equipment for public employees, including medics and police officers.

if the police officers have low salaries and poor equipment, they will not do their jobs to the full potential and many of them will be corrupt.

if police officers and even soldiers are corrupt, criminals may acquire military-grade weaponry.

as the police is poor equipped, it will be also easier for criminals to smuggle more weapons and drugs.

as such, criminals will have lots of drugs and lots of guns.

if criminals have guns and law abiding citizens have no guns, the criminals win.

combine all these and much more and you have the result.

of course, not everything is bad, there are many good things, but when it comes to public service and government, we're screwed.

and in a city like Rio de Janeiro, where criminals rule strategic, hilly positions, an important person running around in an average car with the window open is, at least, madness. at worse, suicide.

I don't know how it would be much smaller as the barrel is still quite long.

Sounds like quite a bit of the rest of the world....i don't care what you believe but i think the beginning of the end is coming to an Head.

I know theres quite a few good places left in the world i've just yet to really see them.

That does make his choice sounds quite uneducated.

caiobrazil In reply to Rose-Eclipse [2013-08-18 13:17:26 +0000 UTC]

but, let's remember, here in brazil we have a huge (majority, actually) catholic christian population, so even most criminals don't think of doing anthing to the pope because hell-fearing.

also, the pope is pretty carismatic. he talks a way that touches everyone, from the rich through the poor, from the soldiers to the criminals.

well, if things keep going the way they are, we won't even need an armageddon or judgment day to end the world. you see, terrorism, political/economical crysis, etc. just imagine if things got worse and WWIII broke open. (or better, don't even imagine that.)

just like albert einstein said, "i don't know what weapons will be used to fight Wold War 3, but World War 4 will be fought with sticks and stones."

because, if WW3 happens, the only things that will remain will be sticks and stones.

caiobrazil In reply to Rose-Eclipse [2013-08-23 19:42:05 +0000 UTC]

yes, he's very carismatic. i remember that when he arrived here, some journalists said him the things brazilians use to joke about, like saying "God is Brazilian" (kidding of course, nothing serious. though i dislike this aspect of brazilian culture, as people here use to be kidding a lot.), as he answered, "man, you're wanting too much! god is brazilian and you wanted the pope to be too?", because one of the cardinals was brazilian. so yeah, he's very carismatic. he's a good person that's for sure.

now this is bad ass! love the idea of a bolt action pistol. I know it's not a pistol but due to the ATF of America, any rifle with out a stock that is not full auto is a pistol.
