Chance is the main protagonist of Crystal Clear and my 25th OC, 27th if including adopted characters.

In-Universe, he was a B-Class citizen of Azure Vale, earning a living by stealing and causing mischief, before returning with the Azure Crystal and healing the king.
Chance is a short, scrawny 15-year old boy with fair skin and freckles on his face. He has yellow eyes, and a short mullet with fringes framing his face, making him look a bit like a girl. He wears a blue coat with a few big patches and brown leather boots, along with a leather pouch. In his casual attire, he wears a simple white shirt and long khaki pants.
Chase is a mischievous boy, a natural theif, and a quick-thinking tactician. He is adventurous and has a friendly attitude, allowing him to connect with many people easily. Chance is shown to be brave, and somewhat reckless, as he was confident that he will never be caught by the guards, but is shown to be cowardly when he got captured. He often covers this personality of his with boasts, often lying and adding details to make himself seem better. He is very independent, yet somewhat selfish and greedy, once endangering his Quest-mates for money. Later on his Quest, he matures greatly in the presence of Prince Ezra and Faye, and becomes a better teamworker. Chance is a skilled swordsman, he was originally self-taught, yet after his Quest, he was given a special mentor.

Etymology

Chance's given name is of Middle English origin, meaning "good fortune". The surname is of Old French origin, from cheance, also Middle English chea(u)nce meaning "fortune", "luck", "accident"

Backstory

Chance was orphaned at a young age, leaving his surname unknown. He grew up alone in his mother's house, learning the basics of living via experience. When his inherited fortune was running out, he took a habit on stealing from the nearby markets for food and money.
