A small tap on the window glass; a tiny ting as a drop of rain strikes the pane and slides down. The drop did not come alone.
It is soon followed by many more like itself and the sound they make does not go unnoticed.
Sonic's ear flaps, twitching, and perks to the sudden sound of rainfall even as his tired eyes edge open.
He wonders what has awoken him and, lifting his head from the pillow, he looks towards the window - the place from whence the sound comes.
But, his thoughts are sluggish, his reasoning addled; will he be able to understand what has happened to him?

If you're wondering why I'm updating this so much: I'm really just trying to get this story going as fast as I can!
This is just the introduction. We're not even to the hook of the plot yet!
