Phase Three

The clouds moved quickly up in the higher altitudes. One minute it was snowing, the next a cold breeze had swept it away and the silence settled around them. Lo was exhausted. She hadn't been sleeping well, the higher altitude making it harder to breathe, and the chill keeping her up shivering despite the fact that there were quite a few blankets and rugs around.

Still, Loretta rode as best she could acting like none of that affected her. Her animal companions could sense there was something off. Rodion stuck closely to her side, the pale borzoi constantly looking up towards her. Vulpe snorted softly, her ears pinning as an unfamiliar face came closer to them. The small group turned to greet another member of the caravan. John Reid 's kindly face greeted her, belatedly making Loretta realize she'd been so tired she'd forgotten to tie the red ribbon in Vulpe's tail. The haughty mare sidestepped away from the oncoming rider and his dog, ears pinning further back, snorting loudly.

"Sorry, she's very temperamental." Loretta slowed her mare down so that the grey pair could pass by them without incurring the wrath of the zlesdin mare.
