Description Show: 2014 Spectacular Stallion Show
Class: Liberty
Number: #226
Horse: Jasper
Handler: Mikayla Turner

Due to a severe lack of endurance races that Jasper qualified for, Mikayla found herself glancing through the advertisements for simple shows that weren't necessarily the stallion's discipline, but something she could place him in as she scrounged for bigger shows. Finding shows for her other horses were easy, the majority of them being dressage and show jumping. She couldn't just keep him in the paddock, growing more frustrated by his lack of out-of-routine things to do by the day. Frustration often resulted in bad manners and chewing on the fence. It was a wonder when she found a show that hosted Liberty for all ages and experience.

It even hosted show jumping! The red roan's brother, Talal, had done something while he was gallivanting his pasture that resulted in a very swollen fetlock. He ended up healing right before the show, so Mikayla decided to risk it just this once, and bring the large galoot with her.

The trip there had been an uneventful one. No blown tires, no oil leaks, and hardly any jet lag on her part. Even better, the growing Dusana yearling that accompanied her to the trips that were farther away from home was on his best behavior for once. Granted that might have been due to the fact that the day before the trip he'd had his vaccinations updated. The young bay stallion didn't take well to some of the minor side effects from the vaccines. So instead of showing all of the present horses, Mikayla kept her focus on just the two older stallions.

The show was a blast. She hadn't expected to see so many horses show up, believe it would be just a smaller event. It was fantastic seeing several exotic breeds prance around the arena. One stunning horse in particular was th grey akhal-teke, Sagadir. There was also this very flashy perlino splash westphalian stallion whose name she didn't quite catch at the applause when he entered and left the arena. They'd be in the same class as Jasper, which made her somewhat nervous.

It was Jasper's turn out in the ring. Mikayla slid off the halter, patted the red roan's neck and let him out into the arena. You were allowed almost whatever you needed to keep the horse moving, even an assistant. Mikayla had opted for a simple lunging whip, just in case she needed to urge the waler into moving more. She hardly had to use it. Jasper darted off across the sanded arena, almost doing a proper western sliding stop half-way across to look back at Mikayla for reassurance. The sand he'd unsettled clouded in the shadowed air. The red roan cantered a few laps around the arena, even rolled in the sand a bit. Mikayala wrinkled her nose in response to that spectacle, mumbling under her breath about 'a long grooming session'. At the end, the seven year old stallion looked a little less energized than he had been in quite some time, since their last endurance race at least. Not quite tired, but calm enough to not cause any problems on his way back to the stall.

Sorry for the lack of art, I'm more than a little tired, physically and emotionally. I'll try to upload more, but the muse has basically been in a line and flats only, because they're easier to pull away from than a full-on piece.
