Okay so today I got a new mop brush.. this is mostly just playing around and seeing what it can do.I had a couple of spare canvas pannels that were too wrinkled to use for pictures so I decided to just it run wild and play around while the graphite for the underdrawings on several other paintings was setting.
I rather like the out come.
Its pretty random but its different.

That is really pretty! I love the colors and the different textures! So, what exactly is a mop brush? Sorry if that's a dumb question....

thank you! nd not at all! its a oval shaped brush usually made out of goat or camel hair that scuks up a lot of water and can get the paper really wet really fast..just like a mop!
i usually dont use natural hair brushes but unlike sables you dont have ti kill the critters to get camle or goat hair..
so i like these a lot

My pleasure. and yah i just cant stand the though of harmin lil critters just so i can paint.. Takalon is a excellent snythetic version of sable and costs about three times LESS. and if they get old just chuckem in the spares bin and get some new ones.
I get a lot of flack over that from some of my profs.
but i just like the way thye work.

I'm the same way. It makes me cringe that Prismacolors are made from beeswax, but I don't think that actually harms the bees. I'll have to research it. I wonder why your profs give you flack about wanting to be environmentally conscious. I'd be kind of annoyed about that too! Well good for you, hon. Just keep it up!

Some.. i mix vinager or alchol with my sludge due to the fact its abase.. and thats an acid.. so it makes it inert and then it wont harm the enviroment wheni get rid of it.. blech works too!
ya wax is hard to do but its soawsome.. the effects..
