It was a quiet day at the Headquarters of the Survey Corps. The light from the sun radiated warmly below while white clouds rolled by. The soldiers of the Scout Legion were enjoying an exceptional day. Eren was trying to scold Mikasa for treating him like a child, Armin was concentrating on a book, Sasha scarfing down her food yet still being famished, Connie was joking with Jean and Reiner was teasing his friend Bertholdt.

Then there was you, all alone at your own table looking down at our food. You were eating it slowly and didn't look in the eyes of others. You were known as an introvert who was highly skilled in combat and a steady strength in ODM gear. However, your attitude was much like a lone rogue. People either thought you were a strange mystery or a cold hearted woman.

However, one was so curious by you and wanted to know you better. Captain Levi found himself in slight awe how you the way you were.

You were cleaning the windows with a rag and wrung it to release water from it. Levi was looking at you and twitched his eye in aggravation. He thought your cleaning was horrendous and you needed to realize your foolish error.

Marching forward he scoffed. "You call that cleaning? You might as well be rolling on the floor in mud."

You turned to Levi and asked. "What would you recommend than?"

He glared and took the rag and wiped the window slowly. "You don't need to press so hard. I'm surprised you didn't break through the window."

"Sorry, bad day." You muttered.

"How come?" he questioned.

You were silent as your face lowly became emotionless. "I don't think I'm at liberty to speak about it."

"It's an order, cadet (L/N). Unless you feel like taking fifty laps, I want to know." Levi grumbled in annoyance.

"Yes sir." you nodded before walking out.

When you left, he threw the rag at the wall in dissatisfaction. Finally, he had a chance to get to know you and you ruined it perfectly. He didn't know why he felt resentment over you. Maybe it was because of your delicate (e/c) eyes, elegant (h/c) hair and a heavenly face to break the coldest of hearts.

Wait, why did he say any of that? Why is he attracted to you?

That's when a memory flashed through him.

Levi was frowning deeply with dark thoughts. Four members of his squad were killed and he wasn't there to save them. This seemed to be a recurring dilemma in his shit filled life. First Isabel and Farlan, now them. He hated himself so much and even began thinking he should have joined them.

A knock resounded from the door as he questioned. "Who the hell is it?"

"Cadet (L/N), Commander Erwin Smith has some papers he wanted me to give you. They're for the upcoming expedition." she explained.

"Come in." he ordered.

She walked in and quietly placed the papers on his desk. He glanced at them before returning his gaze to the floor.

"Sir...do...do you want to talk?" you wondered.

"What the hell makes you think I want to chat with you?!" he sneered.

"Nothing, though you look miserable and I thought you would like some company." you answered.

"Fine then," he gave a dark chuckle. "tell me and pity me. Say how sorry you are for my loss, how it's not my fault, how I should live on to keep fighting for humanity or how they wouldn't want me to feel this way. I've heard them all Cadet, go on and tell me."

For a moment there was silence as the short captain gave you a challenging look while you merely blinked. Then, you reached your hand out and just stroked his head. His eyes widened at your action. You were never one to console anyone.

You were mute as you softly stroked his head and felt his black locks through your fingers. His eyes gradually softened and his shoulders relaxed as if he was calming down. Whatever you were doing, seemed to calm him down.

Unknowingly to you both, your hearts were racing faster.

It was the next night as Levi was scolding at Sasha for trying to sneak food into her dorm. Then suddenly, Christa walked over.

"Excuse me, has anyone seen (Y/N)?" Christa asked.

"She said she was going out this evening with Mikasa and Eren. I thought they would be back by now." Sasha pouted.

Levi felt his heart stung in worriment. Why weren't you back?

"Where were they heading?" Levi asked.

"To the new market that sells fresh ingredients." Christa replied.

Levi stomped off and left the two females alone.

"Does this mean I don't have to clean the hallways till I'm fifty?" Sasha whispered to Christa.

You were dragged along by Eren and Mikasa to check out new ingredients at this market. However, you were reluctant to come since you hated venturing Wall Sina at night. Some people came out during this time to perform their own greedy schemes.

Standing outside, you waited for them to come out and avoided eye contact with anyone. You didn't want to cause a scene. That was all going to change quickly though.

Turning your head slightly you saw familiar brown orbs that had been haunting you awake and asleep. Your body began trembling in fear, your eyes widened in sheer fright and everything inside of you kept telling you to run away now.

"N-No..." you whispered.

The tall ark stranger began walking towards you, to which you quickly ran away. All you knew right now, was that you had to get away now.

Eren came out of the store with a bag of vegetables but then noticed how you were running away from someone. Curious and in a slight panic he dropped his bag and chased after you immediately.

Mikasa walked out just as Eren turned the corner. "Eren?"

"Oi!" a familiar voice yelled.

Mikasa turned to see Levi running to her. "Where is (Y/N)?"

"She was right here but she's gone. So is Eren." she responded.

Levi saw an older man walk pass him but he grabbed him by the collar and asked. "Did you see a woman with (h/c) and (e/c)?"

"Y-Yeah, she was running away." he stammered.

"From what?" Levi glared.

"S-Some man in a-a long coat a-and a hat. S-She seemed scared." he replied shakily.

In slight dread, Levi dropped him and ran off with Mikasa following after him. Levi couldn't understand emotions at times but he did understand one thing clearly.

If you were scared, something must be wrong.

You kept running but eventually came to a dead end in an alleyway.

Damn, maybe I could-.

Your thoughts were interrupted by approaching footsteps. In terror, you turned to see an old acquaintance. One you never wanted to see in your life again.

"N-No...Q-Quinton..?" you shakily asked.

He gave a sadistic smirk and replied. "My love."

Your knees almost gave away to his disturbing voice and the horrifying visions of your past. You wanted this to be a dream. You just wanted to think you were having an eerie nightmare that didn't seem to end.

But this was reality.

"My love, I never thought you would be a coward." he sniggered.

"Why are you here?" you asked almost shaking.

"You were the best thing that had ever happened to me." he began walking forward. "I get what I want, when I want it. You really think you can escape from me? Darling, you are dead wrong."

You knew getting passed him was almost impossible. He was cunning and manipulative. He could tell anything about you and you knew it.

What could you do now?
