Description
Random crossover-AU combining two of my favourite franchises right now: Dust: An Elysian Tail and Voltron: Legendary Defender. This is one of a series of screen-cap redraws I've been working on for a while now (most of them from Season 1, I've got one from Season 2), but I thought this would be a nice one to introduce this little project of mine.This AU-crossover is very much a mix of the traditional/fantasy found in D:AET and the sci-fi found in Voltron, so the gang still flies giant robotic lion mechs but there is a lot more magic woven into their equipment as well.
Voltron: Legendary Defender is the property of Dreamworks, Studio Mir and Netflix
Dust: An Elysian Tail is the property of Humble Hearts and Dean Dodrill
(Don't worry, I haven't forgotten about Fidget. She just didn't fit into this screen-cap, she'll show up in the next one)

To give a quick summary, Voltron is a sci-if adventure cartoon show – a reboot of a series that was originally aired in the 80s (and was also based off a Japanese anime called Golion) and has had several reboots before now. The show is on Netflix and is a good mix of awesome space adventures and chuckle-worthy shenanigans. You've got your five main characters who pilot the Lions of Voltron (Voltron is basically a giant mech made up of five slightly-smaller-but-still-rather-large lion mechs) plus an alien princess and her advisor as the main cast, and the main villain is the emperor of an intergalactic empire responsible for the destruction of the princess's home ten-thousand years prior.
If you can and get the chance, I highly recommend checking it out.

Ohhhh, coooool! I just looked into the Wiki and the character bios, and I gotta say, it DOES look pretty awesome! All the characters seem cool and hilarious, especially the flirty one named Lance. XD For some reason, the animation reminds me a lot of Avatar: The Last Airbender, and I LOVE that show. :3 So, yeah, great choice of a crossover!

Gotta love Lance! XD and yes, the show is animated by the same studio who worked on both Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korea; Studio Mir. This has led to a lot of fan-nicknames for the characters based on those shows. Lance, for example, is Space Sokka and Keith is Space Zuko.

THAT's why! I took one look at Lance and thought, "Man, he's so much like Sokka!" Also, he's a flirt, and Sokka flirted a lot in A:TLA, haha. XD
Well, no wonder they're such rivals, cuz Sokka never liked Zuko anyway, haha.

XD yep, I think there are some videos on YouTube with a couple of parody videos along the lines of 'Voltron, but [Voltron Character] is [A:TLA Charcater" and they are hilarious because they fit so well! I think so far they've done:
Lance is Sokka (x2)
Keith is Zuko (also x2) (I crack up every time "Honour" is used!)
Allura is Katara
Pidge is Toph (small green sass master...this seems to be a running theme with this studio)
Voice clips from A:TLA have been used in a lot of Voltron crack videos and the parallels are just brilliant.

Pidge may not be exactly the same as Toph, but she is still a sassy, takes-no-nonsense, green gremlin and I freaking love it. Pidge is easily my favourite character, closely followed by Lance and Coran.
