Anime Expo is the largest anime convention of all others, set in Los Angeles Convention Center, jam-packed with a myriad of events, including music concerts, merchandise, and guests of honors, i.e. voice actors, developers, artists, and etc., from the best of Anime/Manga.

Groups are basically different kinds of clubs an such for members and different artwork. They're in the "More" tab if you hover over them, or you can just do a google search on deviantart groups and the page should pop up.
