Description
Here are those models I been telling you guys about. I made them for a competition held by , and the good folks over there at Team Acorn! these models were challenging and pretty fun to work on and I have been tinkering with them ever since. I am working on a small project with them but after that, I have no plans whatsoever; and that is a shame I have never worked so hard on a single model before let alone four! These are my best models to date with the most comprehensive and intuitive rigging systems and masking setups I have ever made! needless to say, I am very proud of these girls and the fact that I can't think of anything else to use them for actually bothers me a great deal! So, I am going to set them free to you guys the DeviantArt community! I'm sure somebody out there can put them to good use! I have included a zip with this Deviation (find to the right of the picture under the Download icon)so you can download these models and pose animate to your heart's content!
Here is a link to the Tutorial: youtu.be/HJ2gDyg9fnM
NOTE:
Up front, I want to tell you that these may models have a few issues that I did not notice and Nicole's dress is particularly difficult to pose so be warned!
I strongly recommend that use blender to open these files they are designed specifically to function in Blender if you want to use them in another program like SFM you will have to figure that out for yourself!
please be kind and give credit when you use the models I say this partly because is the right thing to do, but mostly because I want to see the kinda stuff you guys make with them!
To that end, please DO NOT TRY TO SELL THESE! They are free models!
I think that covers It let me know if there is any trouble with the models and ENJOY!
p.s. Sally's model does not come with bombs if enough of you ask I'll make that available separately!
Thanks for reading here have a trophy!

it's not that i don't know how to convert the model file the issue comes from the eye materials and controlling them in SFM

Eh, i understand why most people don't even bother to port their model over source engine (making face flexes can be a total bitch sometimes), also someone could mess up normals and bump mapping and instead of normal looking model you can get a shiny action figure that look like it's been oiled up. i gotta ask, does models has any face bones? I honestly don't even know how you guys can make weight painting so precise

Rotalice2 In reply to TSwSS [2018-01-23 17:31:52 +0000 UTC]
yeah porting to SFM is a tough process IMO. Only did it once and I just prefer using blender. Unfortunately, because of that I employed a lot of methods to control these models that don't port well to Source engine. For example(to answer your question): there are no face control bones in the rigs of these models that directly control the mesh. Instead the bones control the shape keys that move the face. as far as I know, there is no parallel in SFM that does this. Shape keys, for face movements are controlled with sliders or strategically placed bones which seems like more work than it's worth because the weight painting must be so precise. but that's just me.

Yeah, i've seen this rig of yours, so that means even more wor for any person that's crazy and dedicated enough to do this (making a skeleton, weight painting, making basic and corrective shapes, and going to do a lot of street magic with mdl files, qc writing, making proper vmts and converting textures to proper format). Which is why i can only assume two ways sfm port comes to be: either some guy who has a lot of passion and an intention that someone who is more skilled than him make a lewd version. Or someone who has money will commision it to port (but even then r34 with your slightly edited models will pop up). So all and all, it's a good thing it's still not ported to SFM.

Oh someone will find a way...
browsing DA, I happened upon this little number...
There have been some changes but I recognize my work when I see it!
I never made any request for people not too make modifications because that is an exercise in futility given the source material. that and I don't particularly care provided i get credited! But all the issues you brought up earlier remain. perhaps it's why we cant see her face yet? but hey, soon you'll get your hands on a working SFM port of the CoA models LOL! (some modifications included)
by the way...
did you happen to try posing the models? what was your experience with them like?

TSwSS In reply to Rotalice2 [2018-01-24 16:54:31 +0000 UTC]
To better explain it, i'd say it was akin to me opening sfm for the first time: very little made sense. Had trouble with switching the bodygroups but figured it out. I'm not a newbie to blender myself, but i only ever used it to get already rigged model to source engine. I wish that your models had a bit more options of moving mouth (to left and right side, like other sonic chars), mayyyybe improve textures a little bit (fiona's tail especially), as it looks more like a sloppily applied paint. And i don't want to disrespect the guy that puts hard work into changing models and porting it over to source: i don't think i want to see your models getting changed in complexion (which will clearly happen, seeing his other releases.). They are so close to the source material it almost looks like they literally came off from drawings.

left or right, you mean like Sonic's Side-mouth? I feel the only way to achieve that would be to have a separated muzzle like the in-game models do! that way i could make 3 mouths and apply a mask to the ones not in use to hide them maybe on another project I'll do just that. You caught me, I'm not really a textures guy. all of the textures are packed in there though if you ever wanna mess with them! Ah well, maybe I'll convert them but it's a long shot...

That Bunnie model you posted was done by KabalMystic using assets from this set, after I got permission to let him tinker with it. This latest update is what the final project will look like.
As for the side mouth thing, KabalMystic fixed that for SFM by center-mouthing the females, and for the males with side-mouth (mostly Knuckles, Espio, and the hedgehogs), he arranged it so that both mouths are bodygrouped, allowing you to switch between them on the fly.

Oh yeah, I figured It was the one we talked about earlier! good to see the shape keys remained intact!
sounds like a good solution! If i understood SFM better i'd try doing that myself!

Do you have Blender? if not go to blender.org download the program and install it. once you do that, you can either unpack the ZIP folder into the directory of your choice or click on the individual .blend files inside of the ZIP folder and blender will open them automatically! you can refer to the tutorial video in the description above if you want to know more about how to use the models! hope that helps!
