Description Now I know, it took a while! Somewhat over a year ago I was teasing you with a screenshot of a work-in-progress of my first and very own iconset: [link] . Many things have happened since, but I can finally present parts I and II of it and say, Thanks for your patience!

Part I includes the majority of folders and system icons, as well as a few program icons – 60 files in total.

Part II contains 119 filetypes. Grab it here: [link]

I'm planning on releasing more parts with missing icons in the future, so here's the call: tell me which icons you want! I can't promise anything, especially not a release date, but I will do my best.

Now on to some details:

Icons are in .ico format and include the following sizes: 32, 48, 64, 96 and 128px. No, 16x16 isn't supported, it just doesn't look good at this tiny size.

The pack comes in .rar format, so you will need a program like WinRAR to unpack it. You can get a evaluation copy of WinRAR here: [link]

MacOS icons will be available if there is demand. However, .png files won't be released.

And finally, I want to mention ~hermik 's Orbital Icon Suite that inspired me on doing this in the first place.

Still holding my breath for the illustrator and 3D max icons...

Ah man, I'm afraid not, too much work these days

I thank you for your interest though! I'll see what I can do and maybe hook you up with a few new ones some time soon

RVeldhuyzen In reply to rotane [2008-02-13 11:54:23 +0000 UTC]

I know what it's like to have too much work... I hardly have time to do anything lately...

The Illustrator, 3D Max and Zbrush icons on my desktop just keep on feeling more and more left out by the day... all the other icons have been replaced by your clear disks

They also made my media center pc look very cool, it just has a cool background, with a dock filled with cleardisk icons for my TV series, movies and music
Maybe I'll upload a screenshot sometime

Nice, clean designs and presentation. I like em, they're all cool and button-y looking, like bottle tops...like, if you pressed them, they'd make that little clicky "POP" noise. You know what I'm saying? No? Sorry, I'll "STFU". But yeah...nice designs, too bad I'm too dumb to actually figure out how to use these things...I downloaded a pack of icons once and went through a whole bunch of tutorials on how to apply them, and in the end...I only managed to change I think 8 of just my desktop icons into the new ones. And it took me a while... Hopefully, I will figure out how to do it one of these days so I can use this lovely set of icons.

I have to say, the "printer" one is so cute. Sorry, but I just think it is.

rotane In reply to suetlilanglz [2007-07-07 18:53:19 +0000 UTC]

Bottle tops! Haven't heard that before, but could be so..

Well, as for how to install.. I'll just generously copy+paste you an instruction I wrote before:
"There's 2 ways you can change the icons in Windows:

1) to change shortcuts, like the many you might have on your desktop or start menu: simply rightclick on the icon you wanna change and look for the button that says "change icon". Then browse for for the clearDisk icon you wanna get. After you hit "OK" it should be there.

2) for changing all files of a certain type, like changing all .mp3 files, you go to explorer, hit "Extras" (or "Tools") on the top menu and then "Folder Options". There go to the tab "File Types" (this may take a while to load) and search for the mp3 entry. There hit "Advanced" and then "Change Icon", and again look for the clearDisk icon you wanna get."

There ya go

If you do change them one day, I'd love to see a screenie, btw

Haha, that's alright, it knows it looks cute

suetlilanglz In reply to rotane [2007-07-31 02:32:26 +0000 UTC]

Oh, yay! Thanks so much for explaining it to me. I will definitely keep this information stored somewhere, till I can get around to changing the icons and such. And yeah, I'll definitely send you a screen shot when that day comes.

Screenshot!

As you can see, for Irfanview and my CD burning program (along with a few others) I just went with the filetype it usually handles. Probably enough people have at least the Adobe Acrobat Reader or Suite that you might want to consider adding that one as well...

Why the hate for us dock icon users and png users in general?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rotane In reply to jaxspider [2007-06-29 08:32:23 +0000 UTC]

Not hate for you, sorry if you feel offended! It's only to protect me from art-theft a little better (since you cannot edit the icons as easily as png files). Besides, ObjectDock can use the icon files just as well.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

jaxspider In reply to rotane [2007-06-30 16:28:48 +0000 UTC]

Aww, but my whole collection of dock icons are in png format, neatly organized, catagorized and well maintained!!! I keep my ico's in a different drive too Anyway, a determined person can alter a icon no matter what format... but you should already know that

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

rotane In reply to jaxspider [2007-07-01 16:39:35 +0000 UTC]

Yes, I am aware of that ^^. But one just opens a png file in Photoshop and you have it. To load up a ico file you need to go one more step via another program. But anyway, I can see your pickle, and sorry for causing trouble. My decision stands however..

Ofcourse the author of any media has the final say. Any plans to make more icons?
