so one thing i did notice about mimikyu is that is can learn leech life, so you can guess that is has a mouth with fangs to drain blood with,

and mimikyu is in the Amorphous egg group, so you can assume it can alter it's shape a bit, so it can fit that body into that tiny rag, also in the anime where pikachu broke mimikyu's disguise and the "head" was flattened but soon regained it's shape later you can assume that something is still in there, but the "third eye" is not easily damaged but is not very strong and easily collapses if hit but the "third eye" can be return to it's normal upright position easily.
, and also it explains that mimikyu turns it's "head" to look at someone or something.

mimikyu also wears it's cloak because even though there are clearly other things that looks way more terrifying than mimikyu's true form, what causes things to die when it's true form is exposed is a kind of cursed energy in the form of gas that kills anyone it makes contact with.
mimikyu just wants to be loved, so it's wears the cloak for the sake of everyone around it.
