WooHoo! I am finally happy enough with this piece to post it. I have been playing around with making planets for a few weeks, but I just couldn't get the picture as a whole to look right. Then tonight I saw a piece of art created using Greg Martin's star field tutorial... and *tada* that was just what I needed. It still isn't perfect, but I only just started doing this. I think the stars turned out great. The planets need a bit of work yet though...I used Adobe Photoshop and it took about a week for me to get everything to come together.
