Well, it has been pretty obvious that Ruby doesnΒ΄t go all out against non-Grimm opponents, unless itΒ΄s a tournament and her opponentΒ΄s aura levels are monitored, and from what we learned about the silver eyes in V6, it kinda makes sense: The silver-eyed warriors are meant to protect people. ItΒ΄s in their nature. For example, when Maria explained her semblance, she could sense a lemon falling on a butterfly and caught it, further supporting this theory.
Ruby is just a much more offensive fighter when sheΒ΄s up against Grimm, which becomes pretty clear when you compare her eviscerating the Beowolves in the Red trailer to her incapacitating RomanΒ΄s goons in V1.
So yes, I do believe that Yamcha could take her down.
However, a Grimm with YamchaΒ΄s exact skillset and power level would be a very different story, and not just because of her silver eyes.

anyone can unlock it, it's just hard....even for a god (BTW I'm just referring to DBS and nothing else, i'm not saying Naruto can or anything)
you just need to be an angel or break your limits, or possibly find a short cut (or spirit bomb) to awaken it.
Also I just realized after looking at all the episodes, I don't think it increases power, it's just enhances the hell out of your senses, making you react quicker, sense KI in multiple directions much easier, allows your sensory organs to be become more sensitive to feel all your surroundings. I think it does give you power (but only a small boost or false stamina to keep you going, like when you run for a long time but feel like you still have a lot left, only to then stop and then collapse from exhaustion) but the deep blue aura and silver eyes are probably just the effect of the spirit bomb.

Like JamesSilvers already pointed out, aura is a lot like Ki, but let me elaborate a little:
Aura, in RWBY, is a life force possessed by all living things, which can be controlled and utilized in various ways with enough training. Chakra in Naruto is rather similar, just that itΒ΄s more defined and explored, what with the different gates and elements and such.Β
And I think that Ki is rather similar. Granted, I donΒ΄t know much about Dragon Ball, but to me it seems like the terms Chakra, Aura and Ki (or Chi) are largely synonymous, with a few differences here and there, based on where they originated in our world.
The oldest-sounding example of aura I can think of is an angelic aura people, especially important religious figures or saints, were supposed to have in Christianity. Funfact: There once was a woman who was accused of witchcraft, and when the church came to burn her at the stake, they opened the door and saw that she was glowing. Like, literally emitting a warm, golden light, with no discernible light source. It just emanated from her body. They interpreted this as God basically telling them not to harm this woman, and they burned the guy who accused her of witchcraft instead.
Chakra and Ki are more eastern concepts, which IΒ΄m not too familiar with, but they have a similar origin. I do know that Chakra was used as explanation for medical issues, though. Like, when you had a certain symptom, it meant your Chakra was out of balance somehow, and you needed to consume certain foods or do some other stuff to balance it out again.
So yes, aura is a lot like Ki, so technically one could implement rules regarding it and its abilities to RWBY, though one would have to tweak them a little to match the established canon facts of how aura works.
Also, we saw at the end of V5 that HazelΒ΄s emotional state greatly amplified his aura regeneration, meaning that one could achieve a state similar to Ultra Instinct in RWBY as well.
That state is likely based on the real-world state called Mushin, or "being without mind", which ninja used to free their minds of all distractions, sometimes even including pain, in order to perform seemingly super-human feats. If you ever play a video game and get into The Zone, thatΒ΄s exactly whatΒ΄s happening: You stop thinking about what youΒ΄re doing, and just do it. No time wasted on thoughts, faster reaction time, greater perception, more focus, your entire body is dedicated to this single task, and all available resources are used to make you as best at that task as you can possibly be.
I did some quick research on Ultra Instinct, and from what I could find, it sounds an awful lot like what happened to me that one time I played Terraria and suddenly went into overdrive, murdering hordes of skeletons and landing every single shot, even around corners. Jump, grapple, double-jump, shoot, grapple, shoot, shoot, double-jump, shoot, shoot, shoot, banner, shoot, shoot, banner, grapple, grapple, jump...
In short: Gamers use the same technique the ninja used, which later inspired stuff like Ultra Instinct, and have been doing it for years.
