Description
A little camouflaged dragon hiding from you! This piece and I fought a few battles over color (see the WIP images compiled in this Tumblr post ), but we compromised in the end. This one's another mixed media mess: watercolor, ink, colored pencil, and gouache on hotpress watercolor paper, 8x10"

I love this!! ❤️ Oak leaves hold a special meaning to me, so it's a treat seeing them brought to life in such a fun way. The plants and fungi look so natural, and our little friend here blends in so well; I imagine I could have walked past him on a hike! Love your texturing and warm fall colors, as usual. I'd love to read a little description of his habits, too.

And ah yes! This little guy was definitely inspired by all of the tiny newts running around in the NY mountains- I just moved here and had never even seen a newt before, let alone the ridiculous number up here. :'D

Oh man, I don't think I've ever seen a newt in the wild before! I would probably be so distracted fawning over them that I wouldn't get much walking done xD You've just reminded me of the wildlife I saw during a recent hike, though; right when I needed some inspiration, haha.
