So I've been kinda stuck in bed for the last month, recovering from surgery, and at some point I just couldn't keep myself quiet and started doing stuff from the bed.This is one of those, 3 more to come but I don't want to spam... will post the next one soon.
Again, done almost 2 meters away from the screen so not a lot of detail.
All textures used are from Photobash.org, most brushes by Jonas De Ro.

This screams quest time to me! It's just like one of those glorious citadels or towers that are build during a peace when kingdom was flourishing and now when threat is there someone is sent to retrieve something from it, something that even time has forgotten.

I was inspired by Dark Souls, even though the landscape doesn't look a lot like it. So yeah, lonely person, in an old half ruined castle/citadel, kinda creepy ambiance and so on. ^.^'

Don't worry about details, man. The composition alone speaks for itself. It looks so amazing. I really have to learn how to use textures like that, you use them so well

The way I learned it, mostly you want to have already some shading and shapes there before you add texture. Then add the texture in Overlay mode, fix levels cause they never work well as they come, and desaturate if needed. Them you can play with a mask, especially if you had a lot of detail painted in, to preserve it. If you unlink the mask you can also move the texture around till you find the perfect spot. You can also play with Blend If to keep shadows or light untouched...
These are mostly all I mess with, hope this helps, it's actually quite easy when you get to it.

Oh wow, i'm so glad you're ok! I'm facing a really invasive tough surgery as well and i'm super scared....any advice? lol

Oh no. 
That was my 6th surgery, so I do have some experience with that heh... you know, it takes years and years to whiten your skin and remove those ugly ape features. xD
No kidding now, I do have that much experience unfortunately (all minor stuff!), but I'm not sure I can just pass that over to you... wish I could!
Personally, I take surgeries similar to how I take riding a plane. Just the fact I have no control, there is nothing I can do if something goes wrong. I try to chose a surgeon I feel is solid, and then... well, it's just in his/her hands.
Every time I had partial anesthesia I just fell asleep, operation room ceilings are really boring. 
I realize saying you have no power in that situation can sound even more scary but the fact is the person who is performing the surgery knows what to do, and they have absolutely no interest in doing it wrong... Everyone involved wants the surgery to go well so most chances are you will have no complications at all.
Best you can do is try to come to terms with it and relax as much as possible beforehand. The surgery is up to the doctors so you focus on preparing for the recovery if you will have one, make it the nicest you can for you and you'll be just fine.

Yes, I had to focus on composition cause I was so far away, kind of used distance to force myself to pay more attention to the basics...

this looks stunning!! Lovely lighting. I guess being so far away from the sceen can be a good thing because it helps to focus on the composition and impact rather than the tiny unsignificant things.

Yes exactly... since I was far and couldn't be arsed to zoom in all the time, I had to focus a lot on the whole picture. This and the few more I did were thinking a lot more about composition and just the overall look of the image. Kind of like thumbnailing studies but larger... but still I did most in one evening each, which for me is very fast. xD
