Description
After getting the town, dragons attack the castle. A few of those who had seen the town's demise from afar manage to escape the skirmish and move to the mountains.Inspired by many of the stunning fantasy landscape paintings that can be seen on this site. How you do matte painting, do you apply destaurated or pale colors?Because I really like it

I'm usually not the most realistic matte painter out there, I do focus on depth and light a lot, most often I don't worry too much about colors besides making all the photos fit with each other. Then towards the end of the process I'll check the colors and fix them up a bit or paint some like on this one... Also I play with Nik's (free) Color Efex plug-in at the end, that usually helps it if I do it right. Thanks for the compliment!
