For the sake of completeness, I must say that unless you have a lot of layers, the method suggested by LadyCarolineArtist a few comments above (Apply image) is faster and in any case less messy. I should probably update the tutorial at some point. ^.^'

Love this! I've never done it this way before. Instead of pasting the image into the mask I usually use the tool "apply image" to the adjustment layer mask but this might be a more accurate way of doing it. Thanks for the tip!

Oh lol, I'd never done it that way myself, funny to see how many ways to do the same thing are out there in PS. I should try apply image way!
