Description
A beautiful day, even if you're a giant.Done for the amazing THE NINE WORLDS CONTEST at for the world Jotunheim.
From norse-mythology.net/the-nine-w… :
"Jotunheim is separated from Asgard by the river Iving, which never freezes over. It lies in the snowy regions on the outermost shores of the ocean. Mimir's well of wisdom is in Jotunheim, beneath the Midgard root of the ash tree Yggdrasil. The stronghold of Utgard is so big that it is hard to see the top of it. And there the feared Jotun king Utgard-Loki lives. Utgard is carved from blocks of snow and glistening icicles."
So uhm... yeah, Utgard's stronghold is made of ice and all that... and mine isn't. What can I say... this is what I saw or what I felt in the moment I went for it and it's what came out. Certainly not as cold a place as it's probably supposed to be, but I guess we can just call it the er... Mediterranean version? Hah.
Another thing I had to consider was whether the giants are supposed to be gigantic in their world, or otherwise their world was made to fit their size. I've seen representations of the giants being huge compared to nature, but to me it doesn't make much sense that a world made for them would not have the according size, so I went with that. I also added the rainbow at the end as a symbol of the bridge between the nine worlds.
Other than that, happy with how it looks but I just spent far too long on this.

Amazing! And I very much agree about the giants being sized accordingly with their own world.

You're entirely welcome! *hugs* The enormous size difference might explain why so few from other realms seem to visit the giants' realm. For one thing, they'd have to fight their way through super-tall grass and fend off super-sized bugs and mice and things....

It's awesome! I love how your artworks look like they're part of some fantastic novel. It's amazing how you managed to give a sense of the giants' size while keeping in mind this is their world.
Really well done.

This is one of your best works. Yeah, i know that i say the same thing every time you submit a new one... maybe that means you are improving your skills... just maybe
Is a beautiful scene, a pleasure for the eyes with this soft and dreamy look. I love the colors too. Sometimes you're like a magician... as you said, you did the giant's world
to fit giants size, and i'm agreed whit that... but the magic thing is that they still look really big, without a small environment that could help to the feeling of they are really huge.
Well done!
