just out of curiosity ; was it hard getting a deal with image? i'm working on a comic right now and was thinking of pitching it to image, any advice would be GREATLY appreciated.

I ended up getting to know some of the guys at Image before I came to them with anything so I didn't go through the standard chanels.
The good thing about Image is that they take blind submissions and the head dude Stephenson, goes through all the stuff himself.
Although the downside of that is it's just one dude going through a lot so it can take awhile.

do they pretty much let you put out whatever you feel like making or do you have to follow certain guidelines ? i'm trying to figure out if its better to finish an issue and mail that to image or just a few pages and a synopsis

They don't really have any editors at Image --so yeah, they leave you alone to do what you want.
I think either way would be fine as far as what to show them.

God, Orc Stain is SO GOOD!! I seriously get excited when it comes out every month. It's one of the few comics that's actually worth reading right now.
