Is it me, or do Darkseid and Steppenwolf need proctology appointments?

Awesome concept.
Steppenwolf (Howยดs name is hilarious if you are a native German speaker and/or know the novel written by Hermann Hesse) becomes a major antagonist for Wonder Woman, by being her former lover and father of her daughter.
And then we have the child of an Amazon/Greek half-god and a New God/Whatever they are called on Apokoplis.
I know, this comes from New 52, but I like a lot more how it is handled in this universe.ย

Badass or skanky?

Bit of column A bit of Column B, I just kinda wanna see where that could've gone. Also while I know mostly people favor "Imposter" Lobo over the "Real" Lobo I think it would've been an interesting scenario to have Darkseid hire Lobo and has Kara there to supervise Lobo's actions. But that's just me I guess.

Why does Darkseid look so much different than his uncle Steppenwolf? Is is due to his experimentation with the Anti-Life equation, or something, because if Darkseid, Steppenwolf, Orion and Big Barda are all New Gods, and Steppenwolf and Orion, blood relatives of Darkseid, look just like humans, why is Darkseid so different?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

iamnotamember1 In reply to JJWS92 [2017-03-16 03:03:23 +0000 UTC]

Darkseid has something called the Omega Force in him. It gave him his powers and appearance. Also, Orion actually does look like Darkseid. He just uses Motherbox to hide his real look

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

JJWS92 In reply to iamnotamember1 [2017-03-16 05:19:06 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I didn't know that. So without his Motherbox Glamour, the Heroic Orion is a scary looking, Rock Man with Grey Stoney Skin?

iamnotamember1 [2017-03-15 19:08:45 +0000 UTC]

How come you gave it a different spelling?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Roysovitch In reply to iamnotamember1 [2017-03-15 19:18:01 +0000 UTC]

I didn't like the original spelling. The idea that some alien planet just happened to have the same name for the Greek word for revelation (and also associated with the end of the world and mass destruction) just spelled silly seemed dumb to me. Always did. I always rolled my eyes whenever I read "Apokalips". It sounds like what some B-Rate villainess with a literal kiss of death should be named. It did not evoke the depths of evil and despair that I associate with Darkseid.
I'd rather just avoid the silly spelling and just have it be named "Apocalypse" as that is the word more closely fits the translation of their world. I replaced the C with a K, just because I liked the look of it and to distinguish it from the Marvel villain of the X-Men movie from last year.

Destructor15 In reply to Roysovitch [2017-03-15 20:36:59 +0000 UTC]

The original spelling is "Apokolips" not "Apokalips"

If you think about it, if you take the vertical line out of the 'K', it looks like a pointed edge 'C'.

Psychoboy07 In reply to Roysovitch [2017-03-16 00:03:26 +0000 UTC]

Any specific measurements in mind for Darkseid and Steppenwolf? Judging by Aresia, I'm guesstimating Steppenwolf to be ten feet-ish?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 0

Spider-Bat700 [2017-03-15 15:09:07 +0000 UTC]

Wow. Steppenwolf and Darkseid are enormous. Aresia is downright puny next to them.

Also, I noticed you chose to give Steppenwolf a sword instead of his polearm from the New 52. Was there any particular motive behind that? (Not a criticism, just a curious observation).

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 2

AzureVirgo In reply to Spider-Bat700 [2017-03-15 15:15:51 +0000 UTC]

If/when Big Barda shows up, do you see her being the same build as Aresia but taller?

๐Ÿ‘: 0 โฉ: 1

Roysovitch In reply to AzureVirgo [2017-03-15 15:21:08 +0000 UTC]

About the same build. Yeah. More muscles but she's still overall feminine. Definitely taller. She's only 6'2" in DC Comics' New Earth. I'm making her 6'8"
