Keep in mind that Aresia is comparable in size to her mother, meaning she is like 6' tall herself. So yes, Steppenwolf and Darkseid are enormous. Steppenwolf can assume a more normal human size. The reason for the weapon was to give Steppenwolf a similar styled sword to his daughter. That's it.

I've never heard of this "Oruon" is, but she is the wife of the estranged son of Darkseid named Orion (Lol, just messing with you).

If Aresia is around six feet tall, then that would put Darkseid at (by rough estimate) over ten feet tall, give or take.
