Description
I had tried out a few alternate versions of older drawings a while back where I changed certain elements and shading. This one is pretty similar to the original, but I thought I'd post it since the original version was pretty popular.Related content

This is so sexy! I love the way her breasts have rolled back and how she's somewhat holding them up. A great tribute to the character that pretty much got me obsessed with big boobs as a kid!

Very amazing stuff! I just stumbled onto your work and I've got to say...I love your stuff. One question I do have...when going to draw pin-ups, do you use a reference photo of some sort?

Thanks. I don't use much photo reference anymore though it was really helpful when I was starting to learn anatomy and proportions. Sometimes I'll use photos for inspiration now. Occasionally I'll use photos to double-check certain areas, like how a knee should look at a certain angle. The only drawing in my gallery that is directly copied from a photo is one called "Kate."

Well that's good to know. Drawing women can really be a challenge sometimes. I definetelly like your gallery. I'll definetely have to take a better look at it once I get on an actual computer. Do you do any comic book work or illustrations?

I'd recommend Jack Hamm's "Drawing the Head & Figure" if you're looking for some help with drawing the female form. You can usually find a copy on ebay for under $10. I've done some comic book work, but I never really broke into the industry.

Well, since the original source was shaped like this (and coincidentally not real) I think we should concentrate on the amazing skill it took to make this wonderful piece.
Thank you for this. It's amazing art like this that keeps me coming here. Keep up the good work!

Very nice picture, as was the original!! I'm curious to know if the changes were made on pencil or through Photoshop or the like.
And if it's not presumptuous, did you make the change because you felt it made the picture more resemble the character, or because you felt it would be a better key for colourists?

rplatt In reply to gypsyleo [2008-08-02 18:31:57 +0000 UTC]
Thanks, Liesl. The changes were all in Photoshop. I was trying out different versions to possibly include in an art book but later decided on not including them. It seemed like too much of a gray area with the standard disclaimer of "any likeness to any character or person is purely coincidental." I thought it some colorists might like a bigger copy to use as well, which was one of the reasons I thought it would be worth posting.
