I'm guessing it's pretty big; I've heard of him using 200+ layers in an image.

I dont think he uses that many layers. In his livestreams he uses 4-7 layers.

It was 5 or 6 years ago that I read that. Alot of glazing; I'll have to look back and see if I still have that IFX.

Many artists have been trimming down the amount of layers that they use and streamlining their process in the last five year. Some production work still relies on separate elements on separate layers, but it really doesn't help to have every single glaze and tweak on a separate layer...merge those puppies down!

I agree. I have alot at the start of the image, but as I work they get collapsed.
Big fan of using temp layers, then merging and making a new layer every time I want to try something risky. Good housekeeping and good for PC efficiency.
