This isn't a Black Mamba.  It's a Mozambique Black Cobra.  Black Mambas are not black at all, actually, but a light silvery-gray-taupe color.  The linings inside of their mouths are purplish-black, like a Chow-Chow's, and the word "mamba" is Swahili for "mouth", so the common name refers to the inside of their mouths, not the color of the snake.  Here's a pic of a real Black Mamba from my gallery that was housed at Alligator Adventures in Myrtle Beach, SC, but which actually belonged to an acquaintance of mine for comparison, so you can see how light-colored they are: pitbulllady.deviantart.com/art… .

Oh, I'm sure the sign said Black Mamba, I will go back to where I took the pic and double check, thanks for the heads up

Checked with the owner, it is in fact a Macrelaps microlepidotus (Natal Black Snake, or possible like you say Moz Black Cobra)
