Yes, I love this series, and I don't know why because it's not me at all. ^^' But I figured it needed some small recognition and did some fanart. (I know I haven't posted in a long time, but that's because I don't have the internet. XD)

To be fair, I used black india ink so there shouldn't be colors. I think the only colors that are there from the light reflecting off of the luminosity of the india ink.

For such a famous series, there doesn't seem to be much of a fannon. Perhaps people stay away from it (the fanon) out of respect for Goseki.

Perhaps. Or it doesn't have glittery saucer eyes, high school romance, kids doing karate, or girls in scantily clad cat outfits. Just a thought. Oh, don't forget highschoolers in mechs. *rolls eyes* I really do hate anime. XD I like some manga and some shows casually tho.

Thanks! I did try and go for that. I also do sumi-e (not often, but often enough) and then I saw LWAC, and was inspired by the boldness of the entire comic, which fit Ogami's personality perfectly...

Oh, you should read the manga versions! I personally prefer them, but that might just be because I am a born comic artist. No, not manga artist. Not a copy-cat cookie cutter artist who is trying to mimic a style ^^'.
I really think the way the artist combines sumi-e techniques with sequential art aspects is very appealing. And it is more than fitting, considering the story. The bold, flowing, strong and almost sporadic style just has Ogami's personality written all over it, and I think it is almost genius of the artist to an extent, whether or not the similarities between the art and the main character's personality was intentional or not. I really do think he is an incredible artist! ^_^ Anyway, I am very glad you like it! It was almost an experimental piece, to test my limits with sumi-e and india ink.

I have recently discovered lone wolf and cu, and it's great manga also, your image doesn't fall behind kojima art work, lol.
I never seen a better manga about samurais than lone wolf, nowadays you get this slim stupid charaters that only need to be stupid or something to be a real hero. Really, what happened to the old days...

I agree. I'm not much into manga or anime, but I respect Kojima's work as an artist, and I also respect that him and his writer were able to conjure up a story and a character that you could indeed like, and actually give them personality instead of turning them into brainless killing machines who have hot bodies and torn up hakama.

Lol. I haven't been posting because of lack of time. And I don't have the internet anymore. So, my posts will be in random spurts. But I am checking up on things more often than I have been lately. India Ink is the shit... you should try it some time. It's rather hard to work with if you are just starting with it though. I've been working with it for a real long time.

Holy crap, I haven't seen any Lone Wolf and Cub fanart except my own, and mine's not in the style at all, haha. Yours is very much like Goseki Kojima's design. Very cool job. Had no idea you could do this with India ink.

Well... I pretty much idolize Goseki Kojima. His art is breath taking.. nothing like the cartoony crap you see in most manga. I'm not exactly even an anime fan... I just like a few of them for this reason or that, and Lone Wolf and Cub I like because it set the standard for bloody samurai manga, and artistic levels. Amazingly, I haven't seen many Japanese artists use the traditional sumi-e style when they do something that is supposed to be traditional in story line. Lone Wolf and Cub does an amazing job of matching the art with the story... I just LOVE his art, and I can't see Ogami any other way. Maybe I could do one of him in another style though, and see how that goes. o_o'
I'm REALLY glad that another LWC fan found this. I was afraid that there really weren't any! All my other comments are from my watchers who say, "ooh, cool samurai drawing."

Goseki Kojima is amazing. I really can't do it in Kojima's way so I just do it in my own. It's interesting to see the change in Lone Wolf and Cub though, from the beginning of the series and at the end. The art is much more mature at the end of the series. Sometimes I have a slight problem following Kojima's battle scenes, especially when they envision the moves and the lines get lost in the dark gray. But it is very beautiful.
I didn't think there were any Lone Wolf and Cub fans on DA, haha. Woohoo for finding one.
