Description
This bath house design has many elements of Turkish and ancient Roman bath complex. Once entered, a customer would be led through a series of temperature controlled areas around an enclosed courtyard. The last chamber underground is heated by the hypocaust system to extract poison from one's body by alternating hot and cold water exposure (sounds like Wim Hof). The main character in the Anvil of the World story by Kage Baker had to endure this process after his trip to the desert getting attacked by bandits and merceneries.
