A bleeding stump is obviously an appendage that has been removed in such a way to cause bleeding from the arteries and veins. Hence, "bleeding stump".

A blending stump is like a large, thick tootsie pop stick, only it's pointed on the end like a pencil. People online call the almighty blending stump a smudgey stick, because of what it does. It helps me shade my works a thousand times better, because I'm too lazy to pencil shade and Wren is hot.
