Catching Up On Lost Time
A Naruto AB/DL Fanfic

Author Note: Much like my previous Naruto story, this will involve Suggestive themes such as Infantilism and Certain Adult situations that may not be appropriate for anyone under the age of Eighteen to read. Of course this doesn't actually involve any real people and it is based on the Manga/Anime By Masashi Kishimoto.

Also this story takes place during the “Confining Jinchuuriki Arc” Which is before the 4th Great Ninja War. The story is an extension Of when Naruto meets his mother for the first time. After defeating the Nine Tails and acquiring it's chakra. Kushina explains to her son about the incident that took her life and her husband, Minato Namikaze also known as the 4th Hokage shortly after he was born.

In the Manga/Anime, Naruto thanks his mother for being their son and shortly after, Kushina vanishes due to her limited time constraint with her chakra that Minato used with the Hakke Fuin Jutsu, so she could be able to meet her child. This version simply extends their meeting before she heads back to the afterlife and allows Kushina to bond more with the boy she never had the chance to raise.

Chapter 1

“We made you into the Nine Tails Jinchuuriki and left you with such a heavy burden. I wasn't their to raise you...Or to love you.” Kushina lowers her head, feeling a sense of guilt knowing full well that she felt responsible for Naruto's current predicament.

“Don't apologize. I had a lot of hard times growing up as a Jinchuuriki but I never blamed either of you. Maybe I never understood what a parents love was really like since I didn't have a mom or dad growing up but I managed.” Naruto pumps his fist to his chest with utter confidence.

Tears were forming in Kushina's eyes, delighted that her only child didn't hold any hatred for either her or Minato.

“You filled me with love before putting the Nine Tails in me, so here I am! Healthy and happy.” Naruto smirks with a satisfied smile on his face.

“Naruto” Kushina quickly embraces her son and holds him tightly. Naruto closes his eyes and embraces his mother right back. Only the sound of Kushina's quiet whimpering could be heard.

“Their is so much I wanted to experience with you. Being unable to see you grow up into the handsome young man that you are now. Before you were born I had planned out in every detail how motherhood was going to be. It's just a pity that I will never have the chance to experience the joy of taking care of you. But at least I'm at ease at how capable and independent you have become.” Kushina states as she slowly releases her embrace on Naruto.

“What are you talking about mother? You don't have to leave right away, right? Can't we continue to chat more. I would love to know more about you and what you had in store for me, hehe.” Naruto chuckles in a playful manner.

“It's true, I don't have to leave at the moment, Minato gave plenty of my chakra to spend more than enough time to be with you while in this state. But I'm sure you have much more urgent matters at hand that require your attention.” Kushina begins to distance herself from her son.

“WAIT! THAT'S NOT TRUE!” Naruto quickly ushers himself and firmly clutches his mother with his face planted in her chest.

“Naruto...” Kushina lifts the boy's face to notice tears slowly running down his cheeks.

“I finally got the chance to meet you mother. I don't want it to end like this. I want to spend more time with you, even it's not real. I want to be able to make up for all the lost time we never got to spend together.” Naruto states with a dire tone in his voice.

“It would be a lie to say that isn't what I always desired when I received the chance to finally meet you. Their is so much bonding I would like to have with you. To enjoy the motherhood that I never had the chance to do. But... You are too mature and grown up and I don't think you would...” Kushina was cutoff when Naruto began to speak.

“I'll do anything! This is quite possibly the only time we will ever be together, so it doesn't matter. For the time you have been given, I want it to be a moment that we can both cherish.” Naruto states as he wipes the tears off his face.

Kushina takes a moment to look at her son, he looked so fragile and innocent at the moment, she felt kind of guilty that after all he went through, that he would simply comply to any of her wishes. She took a deep breath, her motherly instincts were telling her that it was her one and only chance to spend some quality time with her child.

“... Naruto, I have no qualms about spending more time with you here, it's just...With all that's happened and what is about to take place for you...It would seem rather weird if you accept my selfish and unusual request.” Kushina begins to blush a bit as her maternal feelings kicked in.

“Whatever you want mother. I just want to be around you for just a little while longer.” Naruto's eyes made direct contact with Kushina's. It was at that moment that she bit her lip and closed her eyes for a moment.

“...Very well. Given this open space we are in is made out of my chakra, I think we should find a more suitable environment to be in.” Kushina begins to form a few hand seals and within a few seconds, the vast open-ended space they were in turned into a bright light which caused Naruto to quickly close his eyes, as he began to re-open them, he started to rub his eye lids and regain his visual senses.

“Where...Where are we?” Naruto asks as he turns his attention to the area around him.

“This is the house or rather the projection of the house that Minato and I lived in before giving birth to you.” Kushina walks around the area slowly, to give her son a tour of the house.

“This is the living room, as you can see, there is nothing special about it. It has your usual appliances and furniture.” Kushina begins to point out the coffee table and the cabinets.

“So this is the house you and Dad lived in. It looks pretty cool.” Naruto gives a sign of his approval.

“Why thank you, this area used to be much different. It had a much more energetic style to it but after your father became the 4th Hokage. It was recommended by the Hidden Leaf council that it should look more neat and ordinary in order to show a good example to the villagers. I was personally against it but alas the voice of a simple housewife fell on death ears.” Kushina begins to giggle.

“Hmph! When I become Hokage, I will defiantly change that. No opinion of the Hokage's wife will be left unheard.” Naruto states as he extends his arm and puts his hand into a fist.

“Staying on the subject, have you found yourself a cute girlfriend yet, Naruto?” Asks Kushina.

“UMM...EHH...WELL...sorta.” Naruto stutters with his words as he begins to think of Sakura.

“Just make sure that she's the strong willed type like me!” Kushina swings her arm in the air, excited at the prospect of Naruto's future wife.

Naruto simply gives off an eerie look, he had a crush on Sakura but he understood what type of baggage came with that sort of commitment with that girl.

“Everything should be as I remember it.” Kushina begins to show Naruto the other area's of the household. She couldn't help but continue to glance back at her son at times, he looked so interested in the house he never grew up in, inspecting every area that his eyes could set sight on.

“Naruto...I want to thank you again. Even though we have just barely known each other, I appreciate you giving me the opportunity to actually take care of you during this time we have together.” Kushina states before opening one of the doors in which she walks through, Naruto follows shortly behind her.

“Their is no need to thank me, just being able to spend time with my own mother is more than enough!” Naruto places his hands behind his head as he enters the next area of the house.

“This is our bathroom, much like most of the house, it's rather plain and dull, you have got the sink, bathtub, toilet...All the usual drab stuff you see in every other house.” Kushina begins to remember when she and Minato first bought the house and how unappealing it first looked.

“It's far bigger than the one I use...And isn't as messy as mine” Naruto begin to inspect the sink, placing his finger on the counter-top, noticing how smooth and clean it was.

Kushina then begins to remember the moment when the doctors informed her that she was pregnant and how re-leaved she was to live in a house that would accommodate her son.

“It's amazing how having a child can change your outlook on your life.” Kushina states in her mind while watching Naruto inspect the bathtub.

“Incredible! This bathtub is at least twice as big as the one I use. Then again, I live basically in a small apartment.”Naruto states as his mother walks to his side.

“The house was originally built for a single family. It actually felt a little too big for just me and Minato.” Kushina begins to turn the faucet for the bathtub which causes warm water to release into the tub.

“I'm so glad that I can finally see the house I should have lived in. The 3rd Hokage should have given me this house instead of that dump I currently live in. Stubborn old man!” Naruto crosses his arms as he thinks back to his cramped home and how he felt that he lost out on such great living space.

“You shouldn’t take what you have for granted, before I came to the fire country, during my childhood I actually slept without a roof over my head. It wasn't fun especially when it either rained or snowed... Their, the water seems to be at the right temperature.” Kushina places her hand in the water to make sure it wasn't too hot or cold.

“I guess your right.” Naruto begins to wonder what his mother was doing.

“Hmm. Mother are we not going to check out the rest of the house?” Asks Naruto

“We will in a while but for now I thought it would be best if you took a bath while I prepared a few things for your stay here.” Kushina states as she turns the faucet as the bath water nearly reached the top of the tub.

“Are you sure? Do you have enough time to be doing this?” Naruto asks with concern.

“Of course, don't underestimate my chakra. We can spend plenty of time together without any concern about any time-limit.” Kushina states with plenty of confidence.

“If you say so.” Naruto begins to feel the water temperature with his right hand.

“Would you like me to fix you anything to eat while you are getting yourself cleaned up?” Kushina states as she heads to the door.

“Umm... This may sound strange but if you can make any ramen, I would love that!” Naruto states with a smirk.

“I can easily do that! Go ahead and get yourself undressed, I'll be back in a bit to assist you.” Kushina winks before closing the door to give her son some privacy.

“...Did mother say she was going assist me? I wonder what she meant by that? Oh well I'm just glad that I can spend time with her.” Naruto smiles a bit before taking off his flack jacket.

I wonder if Naruto will really go along with this? I get the feeling he didn't understand what I meant when I said that I would take care of him.” Kushina opens the door to the room that she had prepared Naruto for.

“I really hope he doesn't get freaked out by this. I just want to be able to take advantage of the moments we missed out together.” Kushina begins to bite her thumb to the point that it began to hurt, taking her out of her trance like state.

“What am I doing? I shouldn’t' have to worry about such trivial things. Right now I should be focusing on making my boy some ramen.” Kushina closes the door and begins to head in the direction of the kitchen.

“AHH, THIS FEEL'S SO GOOD!” Naruto slowly allows his body to be submerged in the water, expressing his satisfied look on his face.

“It's been a while since I took a bath like this. It's even more fulfilling after taking on the Nine Tails. I wonder how Yamato and old man Bee are doing?” Naruto's mind begins to think of his teammates. It was at that moment that he realized that what he was experiencing wasn't actually real.

“That's right, I was on a mission to control the Nine Tails, this isn't real.” Naruto starts to become depressed at the thought. As he lifts his left leg slightly out of the tub and watches the water drip down from his toes, he couldn’t help but think that a part of this was actually in fact, real.

“Not even Itachi's Genjutsu felt this real. My mother is here...with me and I won't allow myself to ruin the chance we have been given.” Naruto throws his fist down into the water which causes some of it to splash in his eyes causing him to wince a bit.
