took
forever.
I actually started this picture several months ago with a sketch of the guy, then I got stuck after coloring him in. I couldn't decide on a background - you should see the different versions I had lol (Sea-dragon, Lionfish, Cthulhu... well, a giant squid actually.) Then with some helpful advice from a few stout art critics, I used an anglerfish.
I wanted break away temporarily from fanart to do some original art - so, here you go! A Jellyfish herd and a Merman, but their faint glow attracts something more deadly than bargained for. Round 1, Merman versus Anglerfish!
This will be available as a print, as soon as I figure the prints out. Yay!! My first official DA print!

Cool Picci, but the merman must be very very small. A common female anglefish has a Size about 4 cm. And the Males only a view mm. Its funny to image the size of the merman now isnt it.

Oh... wow... I would not want to go up against something like that. I feel sorry for the kid...fish...merman...person. ;-;

O_O wow....wow...and wow...the big light fisher ma bob reminds me of the fish in finding nemo. I like this pic though...the light coming off of the fisher ma bob gives the picture an eery feeling (I probably spelt that WAY wrong, but oh wells). I hope the merman wins!

That's one of the best merman designs I've ever seen!
